After reading the actual chapter, it's implied that Jack will be back in action again. But even then, we probably won't be seeing too much more of him. The fights in One Piece have evolved into shorter battles since Oda wants to put more emphasis on the story.

Jack's got one last shot to play his best cards.

Yeah, it's looking like Queen may be using sea stone bullets, all right. But then again, considering his "Plague" epithet (and the subsequent reveal at Udon that he specialized in creating deadly viruses), perhaps those bullets are just as likely coated with some sort of contagion....?

Well, that may be true, but I can't help but feel that with all the hype he's gotten, it wouldn't be right for Jack to go down in such an anti-climactic fashion. That's why I still have hope for him, despite his offscreen loss to Inu and Neko. Besides, as was pointed out several times already, we still haven't seen his hybrid form in action....

I hadn't thought of that, but given that Drake is pretty much shitting himself, I think sea stone is more likely. We were told before that only the craftsmen of Wano could possibly refine sea stone into bullets, so it has to happen at some point. It would be a game changer too. When characters with DFs that make them immune to bullets get shot at, they usually tank them and don't bother dodging, so if they're unaware of their existence, even some top dog could get killed (though that won't happen, but I could see an admiral getting injured, for example).

^Yeah, I was about to bring that up, as well. I'm seeing conflicting info indicating the series is on either a one or two-week break (the chapter schedule at Viz's site says 992 will be out on the 11th). Either way, it looks like there's no chapter this week.... which already kinda throws a wrench into Oda's plans to reach chapter 1000 before 2021 hits, if he's sticking to the schedule I mentioned earlier. Hope he's doing well, at least....

We had a Friday release for Jump not even three weeks ago, though I think One Piece was on break that week.

That's such a silly troll. Kanjuro and Jack had a lot of emotion tied to their story lines and you know it. Off-paneling is fine for someone like Page One, but it's obviously weird for these 2 in particular.

It's confirmed now, no chapter this week nor the next due to Oda's health. It's rather worrisome, authors suddenly taking a one week break because of health issues is common, but two weeks is relatively rare. Let's just hope for the best.

Yeah I agree it could be a Plaque bullet I realised that the Samurai in one panel look so much hurt kind of like similar to the situation in Udon Prison. I'd say it's 50/50 chance of it being Plaque or Sea stone bullet or it could a combination of both.

The way I'm hearing it is that Oda's taking just an official one week break, but it happens to also line up with a regular Jump break/double issue, so that's why it ends up being two weeks.

I hope it's just something simple, and that he didn't get Covid...

There's an issue next week, so that's not it. It could be that the second week off is simply because of his regularly scheduled breaks.
