Well, the supposed 'delay to add the stuff' was just around a day or two, "It's okay if that was true", is what I had in mind.

I wasn't that happy seeing it since I wanted more of Umineko. 'Greed' you know, not the good kind. :/

There are a few problems when using Applocale with our patch, so if you're getting the 'regional language settings' error screen, this is how you can fix it:


Find the Umineko game disk, right-click it, and select open.
Find the 3 folders called BGM, sys_se, and SE.
Copy those folders into your game folder (Program Files\07th_Expansion\Umineko4), and tell it to overwrite all files.

Also remember to run the game with Applocale every time if you haven't set your regional settings to Japanese.

Just finished this and the both option will forever haunt me.
Also since you asked for some corrections I had read this on an image board about a day ago:
"Witch Hunt doesn't know the difference between "who" and "whom" and it's really bothering me."
I'm not really too sure on the locations as I didn't notice though, but i thought you would want to know.

The only people that should "really bother" are hardcore grammar nazis... however, I suppose I can take another look at it.

If you'd be so kind, can you ask this person to point out locations? The options are either that I sift the script for every instance of these two words which will probably make me cry, or get help from someone who's already seen the issue... particularly if the issue is that "who" was used where "whom" should have been, since the latter is less common.

The only instance of "whom" in EP4 seems to be "When you become a full witch, you may not only be a match for me, but might instead grow into a Great Witch whom I must acknowledge as superior."

This is correct usage ("I must acknowledge *"), so I'm assuming it's the opposite problem.

EDIT: Just checked every "whom" in the entire script. (Luckily there aren't terribly many.) They're correct. I don't have time to check each "who" right now, though.

Thank you this fixed my problem, you might want to add it to the readme for the next patch if this persists.

There was one point I noticed, although I forgot to save the screenshot, where it said 'an' something (where it should have said 'a' something). Can't remember where it was off the top of my head unfortunately as I was too busy enjoying the story XD. Very minor, nothing worth killing over, but just incase anybody else notices whilst going through (again?) ;o I won't have time for a while unfortunately so just thought I'd point it out :P

I think the second word began with s actually, but I can't really say I remember perfectly. An honour sounds right, so it wouldn't be that :P

I keep getting an error when I try to play. I installed the game by copy it and pasting it into the program files and the error I get says that is the problem. But I can't install the game because it freezes up when I try to install it like it says. Can someone help me? I really want to play.

I had a similar problem such as you are having. Note: I'm not sure if this will work if you use Vista, but if you have XP like I do then it should be fine:

Spoiler for How to::

1. Go to My Computer. Make sure the Umineko 4 disc is in your disk drive obviously. When My Computer opens right click the umineko icon under Devices with Removeable Storage (the icon should be part of Battler's face).

2. Click 'Explore' option when you right click. A new window should open up, and should look like this:



Now 'X' out of this window for a moment. Go into 'My Documents' and make a new folder. Call it 'Umineko 4' or whatever. I suggest you take that folder and put it on your desktop for the time being to make things easier.

3. Now go back to the window in Step 2, while keeping your 'Umineko 4' folder opened (you can do this by reopening My Computer on a different window). Now simply transfer everything from the D drive Explorer window into your Umineko 4 folder - EXCEPT FOR THE FULLSCR DATA.

4. After doing that, open the Fullscr data folder from the D drive window and copy all the files inside of there into the 'Umineko 4' folder, but create no sub folder for it okay!

5. Almost done. Download the patch and put that [WH] folder into the Umineko 4 folder. Open it up, load up the onscriptor and you should be able to play!

The patch maintains saves (saves aren't located in the patch files).
