Considering the rather incendiary (and very off topic) nature of the ongoing discussion, I'm forced to shut it down. the latest posts have been deleted, and no further off-topicness on the matter will be tolerated. To the interested people: go ahead in PM if you feel the need to.

Wait so were Golden Dream's answers cold or were his methods cold or both? If his methods are cold, then it's nothing along the lines of x mod y where x and y are integers then? Cause then I don't understand the cutting down reference anymore
Anyways, here's my guess: http://forums.animesuki.com/member.php?u=4237 Got that by substituting the numbers of monsters left as z and the kingdom numbers as y and then solving for x for each kingdom in the following equation: x mod y = z Then I took the differences between the numbers. Probably cold considering your answer to Golden Dream And I don't hate math, it's just the way I interpreted the phrase "only mod" gave me the impression that we were actually making things too complicated, hence the "only" part

warm - you got it all right or "semi-right" but are still missing stuff In a sense, cold = you're thinking of it the wrong way. Quote:

Well just to make sure you didn't misunderstand, thereby leading me to think my thinking was correct when in fact, it was wrong, what I meant was like this: 3 monsters left in Kingdom of V so z=3 Kingdom V stands for 5 so y=5 X mod 5 =3 X is equal to 8 (hope it's still warm but if not, it's better than going the wrong way while in oblivion )

The mod crew on these forums is fantastic, and always have been. There are very few forums where the moderators take such an active role in the community, not as moderators and administrators that lay down the rules, but as members. You all should congratulate yourselves for a job well done. Now to go back into hiding for another six months. *edit* Glad to see you're still around and kicking, Nightwish. |

Hmmm maybe it's this?
http://forums.animesuki.com/member.php?u=32931 I decided to try to figure out who the Princess was based upon hints and the description since I'm currently out of ideas using my previous method. I focused on these specifics: short, fat sword, and the hint that one will recognize the princess if he/she stumbles upon their profile. I assumed that this meant the Princess was well known by everyone. I haven't really watched an extensive amount of anime, but I have watched most popular animes, which is most likely enough. I came up with Princess Mononoke and Euphemia, and that was pretty much it If it's anime Princess, I'll probably never get it based on guessing alone. And then I remembered famous Princesses outside of anime (which is more likely IMO, given that no further elaboration or clarification was given on that particular hint, but it could just be trying not to give too much away). I was 100% sure it was Zelda, since old zelda games always had a short 2d Link swinging his sword around, and your last riddle had elements that alluded to videogames, but none of the people with zelda in their names had over 100 posts Peach didn't work either, and that pretty much left Disney Princesses. Tiana is technically the shortest in her frog form (and because the others turned up nothing). I also thought about using my previous method, taking the differences between 8, 12, 14, (19-22), and 21 and then matching them up with the corresponding letters normally on the dialpad of a phone. Assuming 6 anomalies, the difference is 4, 2, 5, 3, and the corresponding letters are GHI, ABC, JKL, DEF Assuming 7: 4, 2, 6, 3, and JKL is replaced by MNO And so on and so forth. I tried getting some sort of name out of those letters to no avail. Anyways, I ran out of ideas so these ones are really out there (pretty much desperate at this point), especially since the person's name is actually Tatiana, not Tiana

Seriously? Soon a month since your '' trying to figure what riddle to use '' post and still no new riddle. If you're that busy with real life, but if you can't afford to spend few minutes here per week, perhaps put someone else in charge of the competition? The hunt will last years at this rate..

http://forums.animesuki.com/member.php?u=31032 The avatar is a demon that transforms (with fire around) into a beast. While the numbers, I just used the second number from the .12 since J at the end wouldn't really make any sense if I tried to find a member with the number J in their link. Just throwing off a random guess to get us back on track

Not as much as I'd like. Kicking or around. I am glad you approve of the attempt to revive the Scavenger Hunt idea though. It isn't quite as polished as the original I'm afraid. Maybe I should have formed a swanee whistle club before trying to run the whole thing on my own.

I wonder where all the riddle enthusiasm went... Probably got disheartened from felix's riddle
Either way, I'll try again when I can decipher if it's talking about a specific person/thread. Or maybe I'm looking at the wrong direction with only focusing on that part.

The only thing I could think of:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=33781 The remote could be the summoning rod. I'ts probably not the answer, but I can't think of anything more specific. |

For the off chance that the riddle thread isn't the answer, how about the Anime Saimoe Tournaments?
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=105008 http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=100150 If that's not it either, then maybe the AnimeSuki 2010 Choice Award.... http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=101518 I posted the vote thread instead of the winners, hope that was right.
