It's too bad that this one isn't going to be full action like I firstly predicted.

Other than that "Yuki vs Ryouko" in Haruhi, we don't really get to see Kyoani do action/fight scene.

Rewrite (Key) will prove to be a challenge for them if they want to adapt it into anime.

Using "only" one unsucessful product to judge Kyoani's ability in the creation of orginal show is a bit unfair..........

So many little Rikkas! The chuunibyou lyrics was the best part of the video.

By the way, thanks for brought up that name, I planned to watch it a long time ago but I don't really get a chance to do.

Well they've been showing off recently with their CMs so...
Spoiler for Not really:

Well they also did something like that in Nichijou.
Spoiler for Here's two examples:

The action in Nichijou is way too overdone for a serious action show

BUT... it works incredibly well for a show like Chuunibyou. And the cuts are a pleasure to watch either way.

Kyoani, don't disappoint on this one, I beg you.

Nichijou holds most of KyoAni's action scenes. God I love that show.

The promotional ED, Shikkoku ni Odoru Haou Bushi (A tune the Supreme One Dances to in Darkness, しっこくにおどるはおうぶし) was sung by ZAQ.

There was also an article written in today's Dragon Magazine about the show.

Wat

I thought Maaya Uchida was singing this. Not really familiar with her. I just assumed since they were going to sing the ED for this show.

Oh man.. ZAQ really confused me a lot.

Seiyuu Uesaka Sumire (Who voices Dekomori Sanae) draws Sanae.

You're really missing out. Even by today's standards, FMP:TSR holds up very well and has superior animation to most shows.

Spoiler for Unfortunately, I can't find the original Japanese version of the trailer.:

Cheers.

I'm completely sold on Rikka now . I will endure any amount of embarrassing chuunibyou-related scenes because of that.

I thought so too, but it was definitely a lot more catchy for me the second time.

That got me a lot more excited for this show than the PVs .

slightly off topic, but were there any plans for this? God, I hope not, KyoAni shouldn't waste their time on Key stuff.

Oh lord, that ending.. I have a constantly growing smile on my face and can't stop listening to it.

Kyoani and a big scale action focused show has never struck me as a good mix and I'm not just making that statement cause of Munto. I think and have felt for the longest time that Kyoani is a studio that does one particular type of show, for one very particular type of audience, with one very particular type of look (lots of scenes of light bloom, snowy cities, colorful cherry blossom filled parks, blur filters etc) and has come to specialize in it. That type of show is generally this non-threatening, very cute and VERY slow paced ultra laid back but with occasional bouts of frenetic energy romantic comedy styled show almost specifically and meticulous crafted for people that really get into that sort of thing.

And while I may not be into that type of show I have come to acknowledge that they clearly do this sort of thing very well for that particular audience and they always seem to end up satisfied with what they've received. At this stage I don't see why they should jeopardize that. They are a specialist studio, not one of producers that are looking for a blockbusters or something especially cerebral or even something that looks to target a broad variety of demographics and is likely to provoke lots of speculation and discussion.

Anyway, I still can't get over that this isn't Maaya Uchida singing. It really does sound like her if I compare it to the previous CM.

Oh and the OP Promo video is now private. I wonder why.

Still off-topic, but as mentioned Rewrite isn't your typical KEY work.
Spoiler for Rewrite OP2:

Like I said I dunno how indicative this is though.

They aren't jeopardizing their craft if this show is any indication; over the top comedy is a trademark of them since their subcontracting days. And they certainly have people that can animate action very well.

The ED animation could be exploited for other characters thought...and I imagine it will before too long.
