Moe can be anything. After all, moe is subjective to a person's taste.

It's just that moe has been closer linked to the popular male-side perception that likes...well, the unique traits and likability factor of cute girls. I bet a male character with the same traits and likability factor will not be considered moe by the same batch for gender bias.

By the holy words of Daigouji Gai, super robots, shouting attack names in a robot, Gekiganger 3 is the definition of moe. It's moe, it's moe-ru, it's burning.

If super robots can be moe, why not animated men? GAR refers to male-badassery. Shinji's wimpiness might ((MIGHT)) win moe tournaments depending on the fangirl's fetish, but he won't win any legitimate gar events.

Surprisingly, Itsuki won, especially regarding the caliber of his opponents. Maybe the Haruhiists cared enough to push him to the throne of male saimoe.

No doubt they have to care enough, after the fiasco in which Nagato got eliminated in the female SaiMoe. I don't know about the male SaiMoe, but could it be that it's publicity is lower compared to the female SaiMoe in attracting the attention of anti-Haruhi-ists?

In the end, it wasn't Light that defeated L. (And his clone Tamaki got hammered as well. )

I dunno, I'd liked L to win it, but it is one of those finals where I don't want any of them losing (just like the lolitron one, Shana and Fate were tooo hard to choose).

PS: because I expected L to win (regarding how long he had quite of a following and fanbase to build up over the years), I gave my vote to Itsuki. Yeah, I was not IP banned this time.

Er. That was me that said that. Sheba picked L in fact, but thanks for, you know, the shoutout to my spot on predictions. Bleh....

People can ignore this post too if they want I suppose. In fact don't give the "called it" to me or Sheba, give it to some inanimate carbon rod.

Kaioshin Sama was the real hero here. He called the winner before the semi-finals even began. Hey, what is that? It's an inanimate carbon rod! Yay, It must have called it! In Rod We Trust!

That's how I'm going to tell it.

Now all that's left is too here the announcement's for the SaiMoe 2007 contest and I can call the winner, and once they win we can all give credit to this can of soda I'm holding and say it was the buzz that gave me the inspiration and not intuition. *Sticks Tongue Out At Everybody*

Kyaa Itsuki won! I'm so glad ... though I did not expect that XD

For the females my guesses are (characters with high chances to win are in red):
KANON - almost all the female characters especially Nayuki and Mai (my favourites)
Code Geass - Murder Princess, Green Hair, Kallen (though I don't like her) and Nunnally; NINA (o.O)
Romeo x Juliet - Juliet
Rozen Maiden - Suiseiseki and Suigintou

Unless Nanoha Striker S strikes out big time.

I would say Fate or Rein vs Sugintou in a 3rd rematch between the Mahou Shoujo and the Dolls.

The Kanon girls are strong but not strong enough.

I don't know. Sola just made a big push for its girls in Ep. 5, including a new meme, Canned Loli.

Nanoha characters always do well in Saimoe and the fan base is strong as ever so I do expect one of them to make into at least top 8.

One of the girls from Kanon should be able to be pushed into top 8 too for that matter.

So will one of the character by Rie I think, Nagi is my bet here. through Louise also have a chance.

Other then those, Sola, Lucky Star should do petty well too.

My dark house bet for making it to top 8 is Manabi, with no bases at all.

A provisional official site of Anime Saimoe Tournament 2007 was created.

http://animemoe2007.hp.infoseek.co.jp/

All the information on that site is the same as 2006. The regulations of this year's Saimoe will be updated from now on. The banner of Saimoe 2007 is invited.
