[Manga] Chapter 505 Discussion

Welcome to the weekly manga chapter discussion thread. This thread is created early to discuss spoilers and speculation about the upcoming chapter as well as discussion of said chapter once it has been released.

As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc. Additionally, if you are posting someone else's synopsis (or their translation of a synopsis), then please provide credit were credit is due.

Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant parts of the chapter. This stands for pictures and direct translations. Summaries are ok, crops of pictures are ok as well if you want to illustrate your point but this is it.

Chapter Status: spoilers released...

-The Flashback has ended. Celebrations spontaneously start throughout the entire Narutoverse, as village after village and person after person suddenly feels relevant again…

-Naruto reflects on what Kushina taught him. He silently promises to not just eat ramen, but also vegetables. Etc. Finally, he expresses his wish to become more badass than his dad, and become as strong as his mother…

-Naruto returns to reality and talks to Kirabi and Yamato. Naruto and Kirabi go off to do Jinchuuriki things together; Yamato is left by his lonesome…

-Cut to the islands village where Gai is seen wandering around…

-Cut back to Naruto. He proceeds to show Kirabi just what his Kyuubi Form is, by combining with the Kyuubi’s chakra. Naruto transforms (somehow he is able to grow trees, or Yamato is able to use Naruto to grow trees…)…

-In this form, Naruto notices that something (evil emotions) is wrong with Samehade. As he points at the sword, Kisame pops out, surprised that Naruto has become an Emotional Sensor, not just a Chakra Sensor.

-Kisame flees with his tail between his legs, but all of a sudden Naruto uses Shuushin (where’d he learn that from?), and deals a devastating blow to Kisame…but he still manages to escape (presumably with Samehade)…and because Naruto hasn’t mastered Shuushin, he trips and hurts himself a little …

-Gai finally wanders over to the waterfall where he encounters his true self (that ridicules Gai’s use of “Youth” when he is a 35 year old man). Suddenly though, Kisame bursts from the waterfall. Gai, thinking that this person is his “true self”, and forgetting once again who Kisame is, begins to battle Kisame in order to “reignite” his “Flames of Youth”.

-Gai finishes Kisame in one move before Kirabi also emerges from the waterfall, and the chapter ends…

Note: This current WSJ is a double issue, so there will be no Naruto spoilers next week.

I obviously don't have the whole chapter yet, but it seems a bit hasty of Kisame to appear if he didn't have a good opening (i.e. opportunity to take out Killer Bee and/or Naruto (and I'd expect the spoilers to mention it if that was the case)).

^But that the clash between Guy and Kisame would occur was very predictable...

He reaffirms his goals (surpass all hokages and become more badass than his father)

Naruto shows Bee and Yamato his training and does something in spirit world. In real world, "super Naruto" is born (whatever that means)
Then, they notice Kisame in real world. He exits the sword.
They talk a little, Kisame wants to retreat, but Naruto shunshins and punches him in the face. Kisame vomits blood and run away. Naruto falls down (he was going too fast for his own good apparently)
Bee pursues Kisame.

Gai was doing the waterfall training. Kisame while running away through the waterfall pops out of "Dark Gai", so Gai thinks Kisame is his true self until told otherwise by some other guy (Motoi ?). Gai sends Kisame flying through a wall thanks to a elbow chop before Bee catches up.

This can go 2 ways:

-Either Kisame gets horribly raped
-Or Kisame starts the smackdown and Bee is going to die

Bee/Gai already fought Kisame, meaning Naruto will be spoonfed the intel.

-Naruto was going too fast for his own good? Am I the only one that gets a Tensa Zangetsu and Ichigo vibe from that? But what is nice to hear is that Naruto has no hesitation now. Punching Kisame 'til he vomits his vital organs is satisfying. But, I'm a little bit disappointed that Kisame would show himself now of all times. Had he stayed within the sword, he would have had a better chance at living. His only salvation now comes from Madara teleporting him away.

Kisame didn't choose his appearance, his hate/evil-ness was sensed by super-Naruto (as he was showing off his Kyuubi powered form to Bee and Yamato) and I guess that forced Kisame's hand.

That being said, Gai is funny as always and I liked Naruto's resolution to become more badass then his father... Here is hoping that Naruto will learn more jutsu's to achieve that (Danzou had some cool wind jutsu's to start with).

Lol, you pretty much now know how Naruto is going to be able to track Madara's teleporting now when he fights him down the road.

Gai's been there since the beginning, but he was exhausted after throwing up for the entire boat trip (check 492).

If anything, this enforces Jesus-no-Jutsu, what with Naruto having the ability to instantly tell if someone is evil or has "evil thoughts/intentions".

So, expect in the Sasuke fight, for Naruto to proclaim loudly that Sasuke is not evil, but rather a trapped lonely little boy crying for his mommy...in other words, Kishimoto just gave Sasuke and Naruto an out from needing to kill each other...

Man, i'm so glad Kisame survived an epic battle that ended with him getting decapitated by a double clotheline from Bee and the the Raikage, just so that he could be effortlessly beaten by Naruto and Gai...

Reading how things are developing with Naurto I can’t help but feel he will be named the 6th pretty soon, I expect he will not only show a big increase in power but also a new level of maturity and determination from this experience and move further away from the bratty kid he was at the start of the manga and show himself to be a smart, capable and inspiring leader during the upcoming “War” Madara promised!

I didn’t expect him to get the title till right at the end of the manga as a reward, but now I’m thinking he will be put in position to defend the village as its leader against impossible odds.
