There were a few minor changes from the manga; the hotel room scene actually took place after Kyo's confession (and before Anna's response) originally -- Anna actually stayed on the trip and caught the shinkansen the next morning. Also the crosswalk with Bayashiko was new -- and awesome. The adaptation has been amazing overall, though; I've lived through some rough adaptations so this season feels like a dream. Easily 10/10.
Anyway there's not enough content for a S3 yet (probably ~2 years away at absolute earliest) but the manga is definitely worth picking up; we're about two volumes beyond the confession now.

I've been thinking it for a while but this episode cemented this series as the best romcom I've ever watched.
The confessions were nearly perfect. I would have toned down the tears a bit, they were crying rivers. But hey, at least it wasn't crying due to drama, and this being a serious romance while lacking drama is what I love about it. No love triangles, no melodrama. Just two middle schoolers learning to like themselves and each other, with a funny supporting cast.

Don't say I didn't tell y'all.
They shifted a few things around, but basically that was a perfect way to wrap things up and totally faithful to the manga. Bravisimo to Akagi and Hanada and everyone involved.

A good show for sure.
Handled everything quite nicely. The romance was built up with care and got to where it wanted to go. Glad the second season did wrap up with a good bit of confessing. A very classy confession from Yamada. The wait for the confession in this show never reached the point of being frustrating, but if they tried to push things too much further without a confession it could have gotten there some day. Good for the main pair. They went on a nicely emotional ride. This was a good one and I'm glad the show was given the love it needed to shine as brightly as it did. A very nice 9/10

I held off on reading the manga last time, but since a third season apparently won't come any time soon, it's time to pick it up.

The short answer is that you can start from chapter 114; the anime covered up to the end of volume 8 at 113 and the manga itself is up to 141.
There were some extras skipped as well as a few minor changes though, if you care this guy has got you covered: https://bokuyaba.fandom.com/wiki/FAQ...Anime_Watchers Also, commemorative art from Xitter for the series finale:
