Anime with black person as main or major character?

The only anime I know of with a black person as kinda a main character is Afro Samurai, Killer Bee from Naruto, and Bobby from Tenjo Tenge.

Can anyone recommend any other animes? Preferably one where the black character isn't a stereotype lol. Thanks.

I know this sounds kinda stupid but I can't actual tell if Favaro from Shingeki no Bahamut is meant to be a black character or not. In any case, I recommend it:

Black Lagoon and Blood+ are the only two I would recommend. Both Dutch and Lewis are pretty well-developed characters, and their race is incidental.

The black astronaut Buddy (rhymes with "Muddy") Waters in Space Brothers is a decent character. However, later on in the show, they start running a short at the end of each episode where of some the characters appear as animals. Buddy becomes "Buddy Gorilla," which set off alarm bells among those of us Americans watching. My guess is that the Japanese are so insular that neither nor the mangaka nor the production team at A-1 Pictures had a clue how racist that characterization truly is.

The two black characters in Baccano! are equally problematic. The male is a "Sambo" and the woman a "Jemima." Luckily they don't appear all that often.

There's a rather good manga about musician Robert Johnson called Me and the Devil Blues.

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works - while Archer is not a black guy, he still has dark skin so duno if it counts for you.

Jormungand has some black characters.

Kuroo no Baske, Aomine is black and among main cast. amazing as well, my fave in the series.

Kill la Kill - Gamagoori is dark skinned

The middle arc of One Outs is about finding ways to deal with a very fast African-American runner. There's also a black batter on their major rival team.

I'm with Ore no Akuma no Blues and Black Lagoon. Also, Michiko to Hatchin:

Gunsmith Cats , the main character Rally also has darker skin, but source considered that it was because of her father being Indian origin rather than black.

There is a blog on the topic here (a picture is NSFW there through)

There are some anime with dark skinned protagonists, but none with African nor with African-American protagonists. (Afro Samurai doesn't have Japanese voice acting, nor is it silent, but has English voice acting, so it doesn't count as anime in my book.)

As a secondary character there are some options, though.

[1993] Wakakusa Monogatari: Nan to Jou Sensei (Asia)
[2002] Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu Deluxe (Chourou & Dama)
[2004] Tenjou Tenge (Makihara Bob)
[2005] Eureka Seven (Matthieu)
[2006] Black Lagoon (Dutch)
[2009] Basquash (Miyuki)
[2010] Panty & Stocking (Garterbelt)
[2010] Durarara (Semyon Brezhnev)
[2012] Jormungand (William Nelson)
[2012] Binbougami ga! (Bobby)

..and to clarify, no Nadia from Fushigi Umi no Nadia isn't a black character. She was born in or near Africa/Spain/Portugal, but is an Atlantean. Which in the show are aliens.

Also, it might be interesting to know, that it is normal for Japanese to get really dark skin when exposed to the sun. There was a story in the Golgo 13 manga, where Golgo exposed himself to intense sun light for a while to become indistinguishable from blacks in the eyes of the police, which helped him to stay unnoticed, because they were on the look-out for an Asian hitman. It also occasionally happens in anime:
