But siscon is so 2009...
No there's no siscon here; they just don't care about nudity. Though Hanekawa thought otherwise, since she realized Arararagi had his penis stolen by the censors. Must feel the same way about their tits. I suppose a few shots here and there lingered on for too long and somehow got boring, but whatever. Karen's arrival was nice as expected. We actually have some kind of antagonist guy which will provide a new type of external conflict. It was a bit silly for Karen to go off by herself, but it seems to run in her family; a delightful but quirky person much like her brother probably. All and all a good episode that was well paced, and the conversations with Hanekawa and the Shinobu contacting part were the most memorable. It's Maaya Sakamoto's VA'ing that never ceases to amuse me. 8/10

Not that anybody who cares doesn't know all this already, but I have made a characters/seiyuus page for this show, with pics of the characters and their seiyuus, and some info about each seiyuu. I'm waiting for the opportunity to add Hayami Saori and others.
As I said recently in the ep4 thread, however, I'm not that satisfied with Sakamoto Maaya as Shinobu. Not enough juice there, too dry and normal for me. I love her as a seiyuu, just not here. Maybe I'll appreciate her more as we go on.

Both Tusbasa and Hitagi are hard to figure out.
But at least with Hitagi you know she has a goal and you can sense her working at it. Tusbasa is just ... wandering around ... you don't get the sense that she has a goal. It is like Tsubasas is still searching for something... while Hitagi has found what she was looking for. |

I think Mayoi counts under "imaginary characters", at least according to her story in the guidebook |

animu is serious business
so Mayoi being an "imaginary character" that is an interesting thought if taken out of context... in other words, only Koyomi can interact with her in-universe so weather she is actually a ghost or figment of his guilty imagination does not really make a difference... again in-universe Last edited by Daniel E.; 2012-02-05 at 07:19. Also, I really really want them to animate the eyeball part. I guess you can't win them all. BTW, kinda off topic but after 2 years now have anyone made the obvious Araragi=Batman and Hanekawa=Catwomen comparison? Last edited by Daniel E.; 2012-02-05 at 07:20. |

I don't see any bee or anything that could administer the poison into Karen now this can be interesting.
And I don't see why kissing matters much, it's just like giving CPR to a drowning person except she is totally conscious during the process. You know, or else she dies. Do people really want that? But let’s see what Gahara-san has to say about the matter when she found out. He promised her never lie to right? I didn't read the novel so I don't know about the details, but seriously, legendary toothbrush scene can be any worse than this? Thanks again for the uncovered novel materials, now I would like to see Hanekawa's face while having that conversation. Last edited by teja208; 2012-02-05 at 07:11. |

Amen to that. With the exception of the coupon troll, interaction with Hanekawa is so painfully reasonable that it exudes the excitement of reading the local phone book: Dull and boring. I'll take 1 minute of Senjougahara over 1 hour of Hanekawa any day, without having to think.
If it weren't for Senjougahara's fear of Hanekawa, I don't understand what the point of her character is at all. |

Here's yet another reminder folks, please don't start arguments with other people just because you disagree with them. A lot of posts have been removed and from here on out, warnings and infractions will be handed out to those that decides to push this further.

I'm still sad they left out the impression gag.
Brilliant episode though; The music playing in Kaiki's fortress of epilepsy fit the moment well . You also need to remember that eastern ideals are different. The line between siscon and caring brother isn't quite as clearly defined. The same is true of pedophilia. Go and watch Yosuga no Sora if your still confused. He's definitely a loli though |
