"Whole Picture Supervision" is so unique even google can't find anyone except you. That would mostly be translated as animation supervisor or chief animation director.

Nishiya as animation supervisor... I think everyone here will agree about this. Are his girls hotter than the other animation directors'! Horiguchi, you said? I have to say "cute" or "moe" suits for her characters. Anyway, he also is being assistant animation supervisor for munto3 so he will start to work for Haruhi S2 after the release of munto3. That means S2 would air in winter at the soonest, I guess. I find staring in fall to be too hard schedule.

But isn't the ultimate director supposed to be Haruhi? :P

If that's true, then Haruhi 2 will be next spring.

KyoAni is busy with Clannad this fall.

Of course, no one knows when Munto 3 is coming out either.

Uh-oh, I made three mistakes.
Nishiya is assistant animation director of Munto 3.
I had completely forgotten Clannad. Sorry for Clannad fans out there.
Munto 3 is not a typical anime episode. It's a 60-minute-over-length OVA.
I hesitate to say this, but winter is impossible after all.

About Munto 3, the storyboard was finished, and it's at the stage of drawings now; It should be released within one year. Go to KyoAni-Bon page, click the centered large image and you'll see him putting effort into Munto 3.

Given that they're releasing information NOW, I'd say summer is still a possibility.

Of course, we simply have to wait for the next Newtype...

And I'm not hesitating to say that if we don't see Haruhi 2 this year, we won't be seeing it, ever.

That or the fans will finally lose interest. There's only a certain amount of time you can make people wait before they give up in disgust.

And I will be giving up in disgust if I don't see Season 2 or Volume 10 this year.

>_< I might too, unless they do something to season2 or Volume 10 that makes it exceed awsome.

For them to release it on summer, they had to be working on Season two secretly without anyone noticing them for long time. *underground

...They've had two years.

Besides, how long is a company working ahead on an animation project? Does anyone know?

...I'm sick of waiting for something we could have seen over a year ago. I have no idea why they are simply content to sit back and animate more Lucky Star and Key/Visual Arts works rather than their biggest cash cow.

That's probably because they don't want to milk that cash cow too much.

...Have you seen the merchandise? They're producing everything EXCEPT new episodes.

Oh, they're milking it. Just not in the way the fans want them to.

They are going to milk it practically dry before we get more episodes probably. Then they'll probably do it again after the second season. That is taking into account that there will possibly be more than two seasons.

There's not enough material for that many seasons.

There will be in a couple years if Tanigawa starts writing again.

This next season will only adapt up to Book 6 anyway.

-_-

Misinformation spread by rumormongers and Wikipedia's misleading entry.

There has been no official announcement on this, and, looking at the story, it simply isn't ready to end yet. There's little of the "endgame" feel other than the fact that several enemies have finally banded together, and that could only be setup as ongoing antagonists.

In addition, if the series is trying to build towards a HaruhixKyon ending, there's precious little setup for that at all. They're only a bit closer than they were back when the series began.

If book 10 does end the series, it will be a rushed and incomplete ending with no romantic development whatsoever.

That's about the fifty-seventh time I've typed that out.

The In-betweeners of Kyoto Animation were in the ep of Gintama two weeks ago. Which is to say, they had free time as of March or April. It wouldn't happen if S2 starts in summer.

I've heard anime schedules a number of times but I forget them right away. I'd say they need at least a year, depending on from which phase you count.
