A very confusing thing..
There's one computer at my place that really puzzled me up. Everything is fine at one time and not fine at another. I thought it was the plug, took the whole thing on another.. I even dissassembled the whole thing. No change, I hear the HD boot, but the monitor remains black, like there are no signal at all, There are appearantly no problem whatsoever, I even brought it to 2 different hardware stores (thinking that its problem are out of my league), all boot up with no problem .. Yet, still the problem persist. Does anyone even have any ideas?
Secondly, that computer also suffer DHCP problem. I set that computer to access the internet through LAN. but now (when its up, that is) the subnet mask remains 255.255.0.0 (unlike other computer on LAN which subnet mask are the normal 255.255.255.0) .. Ipconfig /flushdns then ipconfig /renew didnt work =/ The comp is WinXP SP2.

BTW, did you even changed hardware to see if the problem was any of them? Like the cables, video card and monitor? Disassembling and assembling back won't do any good if 1 component is working bad.
You said you brought to 2 diff stores... what did they say ?

What did you take to those stores? Just the case? If they didn't find anything wrong with it them it must have been 1 of the things that you didn't take to the store that is broken.

Does your computer pass POST? Does it start up, and begin loading Windows? If not, then the video card/internal video is the problem.
The LAN - is it also onboard? I am starting to worry if the video and LAN are onboard and not working properly. |
