He's prolly gonna be one of those people who end up being disappointed in it. Or loves it. Man, I'd kill to even be in Japan, and kill even more to see that movie in theatre |

That person likely has a bunch of money. It appears to be four "special theatre" advance tickets (the ones with the bookmarks at 1800 yen apiece) and multiple "normal" advance tickets (with the Yuki teaser image on them for 1500 yen apiece). The muffler towel set was 2800 yen, and I'm not entirely sure if I see one of those or not since they have a blue border. Either way, that person certainly has supported Kyoto Animation and Kadokawa, plus his/her local theatres very well.

You might need to buy a lot of tickets just to get the full set of extras. So, I applaud what this man is doing. It would be nice if he scalped any tickets that he doesn't use for himself or a loved one, though. You know, just sell the excess tickets at reduced prices but with out the extras. That way, you'll have up to 29 fewer empty chairs. Still, even if he doesn't do that... good for the guy to support the movie like this.

And here are some comparison pictures from the DVD vs the first original soundtrack promotional video (no spoilers, DVD on bottom): |

Spoiler for not a spoiler if you are able to understand the title of the movie:
On the other hand, Haruhi does have nice hooters...

^ Perhaps he's quite short and desires to clear the seats in front of himself for optimal viewing, as theaters in Japan (at least all the ones I've been to) sell tickets to specific seats at a specific time rather than free-for-all seating for a specific show time.

If so, I can totally understand why he's doing this. It has to be pretty bad to not get a good view of a movie that you've been really looking forward to.
