I doubt this'll be a "thriller", but I'm definitely foreseeing a lot of drama and trauma. Everyone has their own issues, secrets they don't want revealed and motivations that people never really see. From the pv, it looks like Iori's a bit like Kokoro from Aishiteruze Baby, putting on a happy face, instantly disregarding her own feelings or well being for someone else's sake. And like Kokoro, she's doomed to eventually break down, because every time she says "I'm fine, don't worry" she's really screaming inside. That might also explain the whole philosophical bit on individuality; if she's just throwing herself aside, she may be starting to feel like she's losing herself.
I'm getting some vibes from Yui, with some of her statements and outbursts, especially the way she lost it over Iori's apparent indifference to personal safety. Something tells me she's got a very unpleasant story, probably not on the level of BV, but somewhere around Ookami-san perhaps. If so, then she obviously had a specific reason to study martial arts. Also, if this is so I really hope Aoki finds out. He seems to actually care about Yui, but his actions are just driving her away. |

Kokoro Connect adds to the list of Animes that shouldn't be judged by their first episode, and it looks like they're diving into the serious side of the story right off the bat. Judging from the preview I would say next week would be Inaba pushing Taichi to Iori while trying to ignore her own feelings for him.
Also for anyone interested, I found the character relationship chart from way back: Spoiler for Relationship Chart:

The weirdest thing about that was that she asked the two of them what Iori was to the two of them... almost as if she thinks they're in some sort of threesome or something...
The Class Rep is a little... bizarre.

I have nothing against admitting that this show is drawing me in. I'm growing really fond of the group dynamic, and the Heartseed bit got me very curious. Though truthfully, Iori is the major factor tipping the scales here. She won me over with her personality, and sealed the deal with that insightful "question" while she was in Aoki's body.

The first episode didnt look too promising but it seems like things are turning around. The characters are getting really interesting and I'm looking forward to next weeks episode now; lets hope Yui's backstory isn't what I think it is.

This series is definitely interesting with its drama and story, although a bit confusing at times due to the switching around without completely remembering all the names yet.
So we have a sort of explaination on how come they are switching bodies around, but it just seems so random. Maybe our primitive minds cannot comprehend the nature of this activity, but I just feel like there has to be a bigger purpose to all of this. Maybe, in a way, the soul switching will resolve personal issues each one has. Then again, Iori brought up a good point this episode. It could end up that they start to lose their individuality and identity. That could lead to other problems later on in life. However, I do hope that the series will be able to resolve that, and they will be able to conquer any problems that arises.

lol. Man, episode two did not disappoint. Good to see that there was a follow up regarding the fondling of the mammary glands in the previous episode. It's funny how the Nagase find the lesbian more of a bigger deal, than Taichi feeling her body up. I wonder what exactly they were talking about in the classroom. XD
The proud look on Inaba's face when she mentioned her size was just smile-inducing. It seems like a big achievement to her. lol. In addition, it's funny how 4 out of the 5 of them made a mistake of going to the wrong restroom whenever they swap bodies with the opposite gender. I really like the performance of Yui's VA when she articulated her disgust about what she has to go through in the restroom when she's in Taichi or Aoki's body. Haha... Not to mention, Nagase seems to be getting used to it as well. When she mentioned she was getting used to it, I can just imagine how awkward that was for the guys. lol. Last but not least, the last scene few minutes were hilarious. The part where Taichi volunteers to help out, and the strange phenomenon occurred just in time to cause even more chaos. That declaration at the end was just splendid! 7 more days until the next one... Oh, the pain. |

Good second episode that shows a bit mystery to it or a hint of mystery which is in need of back story. Specially the reaction of that girl towards guys and her taking up martial arts maybe just to defend herself though I'm much sure that the guy who likes her would probably the key on opening her heart up on that event. And onto the other pair. When C2F show that character relation map. I didn't think that Inaba would be liking Taichi. That would be a spoiler on it because the only hit we got which is solid on it is Taichi like Iori and the scene at the end of this episode stir trouble on it. She is either pissing Taichi off or helping him on his relationship. The class rep also has her issue on her own

At any rate, I think I'm more curious about this show than the rest of the ones airing this season. ORE, KININATTAN DA!

I watched the two starter episodes one after the other last night due to time constraints over the previous week, and I have to say that I am glad that I did. The first episode is very slow and feel like a heavy introduction with the main plot dynamic being used for a gag rather than something a bit deeper. If I had only watched that one episode and then had to wait a week, I'd have easily been underwhelmed as by the end of it I was a bit bored, unimpressed, and looking for something else. Thankfully, I had the second episode and I got to see the show really take itself into much more serious territory as it delved into some philosophical questions as well as the difficulty of the kids to deal with their changes in sexual identity.
From the looks of it, there's like a love pentagon going on here and the next episode, thanks to the unforeseen consequences of the kids acting out of character in the bodies of others, will come to a quick boil. There's a lot of hints in the episode of who likes who in some secret way, and who is aware and *unhappy*. The show seems to focus on Inaba looking at Taichi looking at Nagase, and I don't know what to do with the other two just yet but Kiriyama will be getting a bit more focus next episode. Anyway I look forward to more in the near future. So ya, first episode was a bit of a drag but having the second follow right up was a godsend. There's a lot of potential in this show, let's see what it can make of it. (Though the show does seem to struggle from a bit of a tonal discord as the wanky hijinks can pop in to the serious philosophy in rather abrupt and pointless ways at times. Though, these little outbursts of hijinks may end up being the catalysts of S.H.t.F. further on in the show.)

Anyway this series looks pretty cool. Looks like they are getting pretty used to switching, where Inaba and Taichi don't even get phased when talking. I wonder if this will take a darker turn later on though, I'm guessing Iori is hiding a darker personality under the genki one she uses. Spoiler for just in case:
