Wholly predictable but still enjoyable. Still, Ayame's reasoning for doing all the spy hardworks is just to get one custom gunpla? Uh.....I know sentimental value can be a strong drive, but I still think it's quite a leap of logic. You meant to say that she sacrificed all her time and feelings playing GBN as a spy to be a cheater's lackey just to get a sentimentally-precious gunpla? Like, her real-life must be so shitty to the point where she's willing to do all that hardwork just to get the mascot of her old online-friendship back, not even her actual friendship.

Another thing that I like from this episode is the mercenaries' "I don't care"-attitude. It feels like a fresh air when you put them among characters who so deeply love the GBN game like their lives depend on it. I also like that they addressed the drawback of having all-SD team when put against competent/high-rank players in Real-type MSs.

SD Gundams have a clear weakness despite their unpredictable super robot-ish nature with magic and supernatural elements based on their respective fictions?
unless these SD Gundams were designed by Fumina, Lady Kawaguchi, and the Shiki brothers. |

I expected more out of Ayame's backstory. We finally got to see her without her mask at least, so doujin makers can go nuts!
Zeromaru's real mode looked nice. Too bad there wasn't a real fight against Riku, and the one against the mercenary was too short. GBD really needs to work on its fight.

Maskless Ayame doesn't justify the weak reasoning. This is a crossover of a plastic model hobby in the real world and digital upgrades in a virtual world. Would it not be plausible to work harder on the real world aspect and build a customized Gundam of her own instead of relying on others to provide one? I guess a child's mind is a child's mind. They go for the quickest way to achieve something instead of looking outside of the box and putting in the required work to recreate and possibly improve their Gundams.

So Ayame did all of that for an ugly ass Gunpla that won't fix anything? Man, never have I ever screamed at my screen "It's just a fucking game, just get over it", but anime will anime I suppose.
On an slightly related note (as in it has mechas in it), I began watching Visions of Escaflowne and I have to say that I am not seeing the hype, most of the time I am either pissed off at Allen for taking too much time out of the plot or Hitomi fucking things up by being a fickle and indecisive idiot.
