Bumping this thread as the series is still ongoing with 40 chapters and still doing rather well.
It has a different feel from other shounen series in terms of pacing. The fights remind of me olden day Bleach (before Soul Society). All in all, I'm getting really good vibes from the series and its definitely one of my two favourite new series in WSJump (the other being Yakusoku no Neverland).

The mangaka doesn't seem to have produced any othe titles apart from a one-shot title, Haeniwa no Zigzag (about a curse-remover cursed so he can never accept a reward fr his services). |

I guess the better term for it would be calm. But that's even weirder for a manga that just started out. Normally you'd expect a new manga to throw as much as it can at you tryinng to grab your attention (the ones that usually fail). Its also different in the sense that its not throwing a whole bunch of characters at you to remember. After 10 chapters, there's still only at max 5 named characters and only 2 of them are directly important (the MC and his sister). After 41 chapters, there's a bit over 10; everyone else getting killed. Basically it plays a risky game by being slow and methodical in the beginning; all of the mistakes that Red Sprite made, Kimetsu no Yaiba dodges quite easily (again by taking a risky route to get there). But its paid off quite well in the past few chapters. The past few chapters have been some of its best and its gotten a surprising number of colour pages for its recent arc. In comparison to the other new series that are below 50 chapters and still doing well (Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san and Yakusoku no Neverland) it sits well in 3rd place. Its a bit unfair to compare it both of them however. Yuragi-sou might just be the best ecchi WSJ manga since To-Love-ru and with character art similar to Shokugeki; of course it'll do well. Yakusoku no Neverland is a rarity of a manga that clashes directly with the top 5 Jump series from its very first chapter; because it really is a fantastic manga. Kimetsu no Yaiba played a slow game that paid off and is now reaping the benefits of it. Recently its been doing better than Yuragi-sou. Also the one thing I forgot to mention is how dark this manga is. Easily the darkest manga currently serializing in Jump (while HxH is on hiatus that is). A lot of innocent people get killed by the demons in this manga; a lot of human looking demons get beheaded as well. That's also why its found its place in WSJ; though we won't be seeing an anime of this anytime soon EDIT: Kimetsu no Yaiba page on WSJ website Jump In! Kimetsu no Yaiba PV:

japanese-bookstores-recommend-15-top-manga-for-2017
Kimetsu no Yaiba is #14 and the only WSJ series on the list (Platinum End doesn't count). I'm quite surprised that this series was recommended; its not brimming with Shonen spirit like other WSJ series. Still pretty happy. Also, ToC rankings for Kimetsu no Yaiba have been amazing for the past few weeks. Its currently at the same level as Haikyuu and Black Clover and surprisingly beating Yakusoku no Neverland!

This manga must survive, i don't mind if Black Clover must be sacrificed for this manga survival, this manga remind me a lot with Inuyasha particularly from Kibutsuji which greatly remind me for Naraku, both are villains from curtain. |

^My binge read ended on a cliffhanger of all things -_-. Can't wait for the next release.
EDIT: New chapter out. I didn't think we'd get an Upper Moon this early in. I hope Rengoku doesn't die just yet.

I liked this at first.. was really interested how he would be fighting demons along side his demon sister.
They kinda talk about curing her, but there really should be no cure for this type of thing. Nor do I wish she would get cured. She could be baddass as long as she can keep her instincs in check. Which she seems to be doing. But after the spider arc, I felt really let down by this, like this mangas lost its way. Well I sorta felt a while ago this manga was starting to loose its way thought silly hints. Well in the development I guess. My enthusiasm from the beginning has diminished alot :/.

Aw man, looks like Rengoku won't live for long. i hope he manages to take down this Upper Moon. With the current stalemate, maybe Inousuke can help get that blade cut through the neck or at least hold him down for the sun to shine on him.

I forgot this mangaka is ones of those whom eager to get rid off their own character.
too bad he is going to die, well i guess his younger brother will replace him as fire pillar then or someone else. unlikely Tanjirou is the next, he need a years again to polish his fire skill. |
