And yeah, the Contender is basically like a rifle. Bulletproof vests will do nothing against it. And that's assuming Kayneth would use something so base as a mundane bulletproof vest. |

It isn't even close to that. Nowadays, the association's stance on the grail war is "some mage tournament between Einzbern, Tohsaka and what remains of the Makiri where they summon heroic spirits and may or may not punch a hole to akasha if the ritual succeds". Nobody really cares about it, even kayneth's stance on the whole thing was something along the lines of "i don't really care, but since the grail choose me as a master, i'll go and win and show those einzbernsand and those second-rate families/magi my superiority"...

Metallic mercury is not that toxic. You could drink plenty of it without consequence. (other than shitting silver)
Not sure what happens if you inject it though. Certain environments, bacteria or chemists can synthesize organic mercury compounds which are slow poisons. Then there's mercury cyanide which is as nasty as it sounds. Anyway I'm glad the show is being consistent in terms of quality, and hopefully we will see more of Kiritsugu's past in the anime! As things stand he's such a mystery character.

I know that fumes ARE toxic, for example if you break an old thermometer it's better to avoid breathing it because it gives minute quantities, and when mercury lamps give, they are in fact poisonous long term, and short term dangerous for the eyes... Not to mention that it would probably block or at least stay forever at you stomach, intestines (considering its weight), and make digestion forever harder? Dunno, not a doctor, but sounds like a really bad idea to drink it OK! that sounds even worse of an idea than drinking it, probably it will burst your vein right then and there |

And his seiyuu is Nakata Jouji for several reasons (fits him very very well in Fate/stay night and TYPE-MOON staff loves him). |

In the novel, Kayneth's weapon is just plain mercury. I believe he came up with that fighting style because he is good at manipulating liquids. He's made enchantments that make that blob follow him around and protect him automagically. And on a word it sends out those ribbons that could supposedly cleave through diamond. But he always has to spend mana to build up hydraulic pressure for those attacks and defense to work again. I always found that to be pretty cool and original.
As for the toxicity, I don't really know other than metallic mercury is quite inert. It's not one of the worst things to ingest or get splashed with, but obviously should be avoided. Doubt anyone has quantified how much of which form of mercury through which entrance is needed to ruin a person. My point is, it's not far-fetched for Kayneth to create and casually wield a blob of the stuff. Maybe he'd get senile from it in the end, maybe he's just fine...impossible to tell.

And Kotomine is great based on his lines alone, but Jouji Nakata, much like in every other Type-Moon role of his, makes the character even better with that awesomely smooth and profound voice of his. |

I think Nasu is a closet fanboy of Nakata anyway, since... he is basically defined as the eternal "big bad boss" in every Type Moon stuff (Nrvnqsr Chaos, Araya Souren, Kotomine). I would be very surprised if there is any work of them with a male arch enemy not voiced by Nakata

I wish we'd get a Tsukihime anime, this way we can really hear him flesh out Nrvnsqr.

what an excellent episode!!! first Kiritsugu owns Kayneth with his crazy limited edition bullet... wonder how they produce that (I can't understand single word from Kiritsugu's flashback... lol... using his powdered ribs??)
Saber-Lancer's teamwork owns Caster and Kirei owns Iri-Maiya combi.... I almost scream when Kirei stabs Iri... oh! damn! I hate Kirei in all of Fate Series.... thanks to Avalon and Kiritsugu's plan anyway... and looks like Iri doesn't have any problems about Maiya's feelings toward Kiritsugu... I wonder what will happen when Kirei realizes that Kiritsugu still got two lovely ladies that understand him and will stay in his side forever... xD |

I am really hating Fate Zero.. too damn dark compared to Fate/Stay Night.. and fuck! I hate this Kirei doesn't get killed in this season sucks so fucking bad! He in my book is the ULTIMATE DAMN EVIL! Ilya only used a binding magic that is about all she knew and how to be kind.. she was no threat to him but the EVIL FUCKER killed her for no damn reason at all! And he is a damn coward! Pretending to be dead so he can use the Church to hide and attack like a damn coward! Killing the weak! And defiling the name of God pretending to be a priest! He could be the anti christ himself he is so damn evil!
NO ONE is more damn evil than HIM because he hides behind a false face! Even the insane one killing children was not as evil because he did not pretend to be something he was not! The one that SHOULD DIE survives which ruins this whole season for me knowing someone as evil and two faced as him survived! I hate bad ending Anime so I may just have to stop watching this one before it gets worse.. I loved Fate/Stay Night their was more honor among the contestants and civility not all this back stabbing, back biting, petty killing anyone just to kill as this one was. Might as go watch a stupid slasher movie where the killer always catches up to the ones running when the killer is lame.. that is the way this anime is going for me. I feel like I'm watching one of them stupid horror movies than an anime where the Heroic Spirits fight with the honor they have as Heroic Spirits. Ugg.. I was so looking forward to this anime but if I had seen this one first I would have never watched Fate/Stay Night it's so twisted and sick compared to the first one. |
