The problem with Chiaki comes from acting itself. 4 of 7 shows from is by SHAFT. She is definitely taking the path of infamous 'Shaft mainstays' (including Kamiya Hiroshi, Saito Chiwa, Kobayashi Yuu and Yuuki Aoi recently.), and I wonder why they keep using someone who hasn't been showing single variety or depth on acting since her debut.

Are her roles in that REALLY worth this much hate?

I've watched every single show she's been in. It's not her roles or herself that I dislike, it's that nasal voice she's using 90% of time. It's visceral, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. I've gotten used to it over time but I still can't say I like it. Why did Shaft have to take such a liking to her? Argggh!

I wouldn't complain so much if it were her natural voice, but it's not. Her real voice is way easier on the ears.

I can't remember exactly what Shinbo said in an interview when he was doing Natsu no Arashi, it is among the line of "As a newcomer, Omigawa Chiaki has potential and I would like to see it." It was in Otona Anime interview, I think. But again, I can't remember the details, so it might be completely in-my-head alteration of what he said.

Disclaimer: I don't dislike Omigawa Chiaki's voice.

I think the article misspelled (Mi?)takihara (三滝原) as Misakibara (三咲原), so I change the name.

「三滝原中学に通う平凡な中学2年生のまどか。ある日、夢で見た少女とそっくりな娘・ほむらが転校してくる 。不思議な少女、ほむらとの出会いに、まどかは“魔法少女"としての新たな運命に立ち向かっていくことにな る」

"Madoka, an ordinary second year of Third Takihara Junior High; one day, a girl named Homura that looks exactly as she appears in Madoka's dream transferred to her school. From that meeting with a miraculous girl, Madoka have to stand against her new fate as a magical girl."

Edit: Not sure what's an actual reading of school's name, but according to Urobuchi's old tweets:

1: Named a school in a new work as "Homurabara" and thought "hmm, that sound familiar… oh wait" and revise it swiftly. The result of that revision was "Misakibara"…
2: Just now I realized "neither that will do!", re-revise the script and send it again alongside with an apology. How can my subconscious loves TYPE-MOON so much?

Homurabara is a school in Fate/stay Night, Misaki is a town in Tsukihime.

I think it's a plot device that fits with the high school atmosphere of this anime

Out of all clichés it's one I mind the least because it generally doesn't impact the plot a whole lot,it's just used as a way to make the "exposition" part of the show easier to deal with,I guess you could say it's lazy writing but after a couple episodes it doesn't matter anymore.
