in regards to Slave Harem (based from translated chaps) . . . it was interesting at first but later on.... it feels like my SAN points decreases every time I read each chapter . . let's not forget how the author keeps on making his MC do double and triple redundant monologues and statements ....
as for this Din . . . latest translated chapter . . MC's dad's treasures gets the "royal" treatment ~shishishi~

He should have just committed suicide in the beginning like he planned to do.
How can he be so scared when he's the one with the cheap weapons in the cheap powers. That sword alone is broken powerful. He's always going on and on how is incapable of doing things. IF THE WOMAN CAN DODGE SOMETHING COMING AT DECENT SPEED EASILY WHY CAN'T YOU? He even has the goddamn time slowing down powers. Someone needs to shoot him and replaced him with a shoe. At least shoe will be more interesting to watch |

i don't think this has slaves......and the only other 2 members i can think of in his harem are that elf Isabella..(or was it isabel?) and that...whatever...alexandria (probably volume 2 cover) girlie. and this might actually not be a harem at all...idk..waiting for the translations to progress for now.
and the mc is pretty dumb is you ask me =,= |

Anyone still reading, can comment on the series?
I read a few chapters, got to a boring one (about MC's father's secret stash of porn), heard someone say that the series is no good and stopped. However, I just finished reading Tate no Yuusha and needed something new, so I got back to Din no Monshou and I don't think it's all that bad. I think the writing is fairly good (no jumping POV in narration etc.). I'm reading it in Japanese and there is a lot I don't understand, but strangely, it doesn't stop me from following the plot. I must say I got lured to the series by the cover. We have a maid heroine who is older than MC and looks the part... Spoiler for summary:
It seems MC has a knack for magic, but using magic in this world has considerable recoil. Volume 3 and 4 covers: Spoiler for covers:
I was suspecting the girl on the 3rd cover to be miss owner of magic shop in the capital (since she is a redhead), but then again I'm still reading volume 1. The woman on third cover could as well be MC's mom (assuming she got cured). Who is Alexandria? Last edited by Poligrafowicz; 2016-10-02 at 08:19. |

I just remembered that Bookwalker offer previews for each volume and those frequently have all the color images and sometimes even one or two b&w images. Volume 2 has character introduction page and the redhead on the third cover is indeed Edgar (the shop owner). The girl on the second volume is Alexandria and the other girl on volume 3 and 4 is Isabel.

I remember checking this long ago since I have this quirk where I naturally orbit towards series that have "monshou" in the title.
- Boring and absolutely nothing happens. - Writing is horrible (all of the things that happen eventually magically fit in the best circumnstances for the MC). - The lead is less interesting than a wooden chair, the people he interacts with is barely any better. ... And that's for about it.

Just finished reading volume 1. It has flaws, but it was an ok read. The biggest issue I had with it were the parts where MC reminiscence about his past failure life. When he did this in the early chapters, it wasn't all that annoying because those chapters were a little boring outside of those flashbacks anyway. However when something more interesting happens (like a fight) this automatically becomes a needless distraction.
