is it just me that this is the REAL actual current Gundam project but was REJECTED & scrapped during a meeting with the boss in favour of Level -5's Gundam AGE?....

well there goes Mobile Liberator Gundam Valverave concept or Gundam V for short (cuz we already had "V"ictory Gundam)

Story so far looks aright, nothing really special. At this point though, I think execution will be more important. I am really hoping they do not have some some kind of school life setting for rest of the show. Early on, having school is fine, later it become problematic as I think it could hinder the story's potential ala Code Geass R2.

Keep in mind this may be like gundam but that might be exactly what Aniplex asked them for... since Bandai owns all the Gundam properties... and this is an Aniplex show by Sunrise, just like Gintama.

Anyway the newest PV is out, Jump Fiesta?

Actually pretty interested in this since Kou Matsuo is directing, would be interesting if he was allowed to do the vocal recording before the animation like in his other directorial works in Red Garden, Kure-nai and Natsuyuki Rendezvous. Ichiro Okouchi is also doing series composition for this, he was the more senior member of the Code Geass writing team with Yoshino being the "junior" member of the team. Just like the initials of the anime they switched positions for Guilty Crown, I'm sure he'll put forth a better effort... he also did Planetes, Angelic Layer and Azumanga Daioh...

Just watched the PV, and it was just as good as all the previous commercials, and here's my predictions :

Haruto Tokishima is your average highschool student who one day discovers a "forbidden" weapon known as Valvrave.
L-elf is Haruto's major rival.
Shoko Shiminami is Haruto's childhood friend and possible love interest.
Saki Rukino is Haruto's classmate and probably a love interest as well.

I can't wait to see every other informations being confirmed and I'm thinking it being my replacement of Psycho-Pass for Thursdays !

& our main guy's name is Haruto? i bet who ever came up with that is also a Kamen Rider Wizard fan....

Man the animation in this thing looks fantastic. Now I just hope they don't go overboard with the chunibyou-ness. That's the pitfall of a lot of mechas/sci-fi/fantasy anime these days. That said I hope it doesn't end up being too similar to Geass either. Really hope they dig into the political intrigue as well.

To add to Misaofan's predictions, the "classmate" will also be the mysterious type that is secretly in league with some super special secret organization and becomes a possible love interest or probably more specific the love interest

Looks good tho so let's hope all the flare and good work isn't just wasted on the PV.

Katsura Hoshino... interesting. I didn't expect her to get involved in that kind of project.

Still not sure I'll pick that up. It will depend on the line-up for Spring. The premise sounds fine but the school setting irks me. I've never been fond of the mecha + high school combination, although some shows like Zegapain did it right.

- Interestingly enough, that new trailer DID have a Zegapain-like vibe (mysterious enemies, mecha with glowing bits, "Reveal the truth of the world"). But I'm hoping it's not a Zegapain V2.

I do wish someone would try something new with the mecha genre, though. Not sure if Valverave is it, but I might just give t a shot.
