I just watched it again (I was feeling a little down due to my first reaction), and I really enjoyed it.

My laptop was lagging when I was watching it, and I refused to stop for a min. So this time I watched it on my PS3 and plasma TV, and love everything about it. The fight scene was great and very well done. The animation was really awesome. Gastrea look amazing.

The one and only thing that keeps bothering me a bit is the pacing, but after watching it the second time it looked more reasonable. And I think that the only reason that it bothered me is because it lowers the chances of getting more than 12 episodes (it now looks like they will be able to cover the whole of volume one in just 4-5 episodes.

But nonetheless, I'm still hopeful. There's always the characters from volume 3-4 that appeared on the poster, unless they plan on making an OVA out of it. >___> And there's that anime special from the manga.

Yea I rewatched it after I calmed down, it feels a lot better.

I don't read the manga or the LN. But I found the balance between action and exposition was good, contrary to many LN adaptations I felt like I had no question to ask myself.

She seems to be hated but Enju was the most enjoyable thing in this episode for me .

Hmm... in anticipation of this series I read a little of the manga some time ago, but I honestly do not remember my reactions at the time.

After ep 1, though, I find myself kinda liking it. Nothing earth shattering, but it looks okay for now. Will definitely watch the next few eps and may even tentatively commit to this one for the moment.

By the by, it was so pleasant to hear Horie Yui's voice again. ^^

Not bad all considered. I like very much the character design so it's always a good start. It helped me liking even Enju, kind of character I usually don't like, loli and what not. Surely her antics don't help, but her back history made me like her and somehow accepting her behavior, since it doesn't seems out of the blue, but due presumably to her short lifetime expectation. It also helped that apparently Rentaro is in love with his childhood friend and principal, so any real involvement between the two is unlikely (if her being 10yo wasn't enough). I somehow got a nice and caring feeling from Rentaro toward her and those children in general.
But my favorite is Kisara. Looking forward so see her more hopefully. It seems she mastered some sword martial art. With a Katana obviously. Couldn't ask for better. Oh, well, two Katana would have been perfect.

Having said that, I'm not completely sold yet. The company settings gives me always the vibes of a show having an episodic narrative that usually doesn't appeal me.

You must be living in a parallel world. I, for once, loved her. She's right now my favorite girl this year.

Liked this first first episode. Definitely picking this up.

Though I wonder if the opening video is a place holder. It seemed a bit disjointed to me and I noticed that it actually used footage from the 1st episode.

my friend enjoyed the whole episode (maybe because he didn't read the manga or the LN). As for me, I'm a bit disappointed because it felt rushed, but even so it's an ok episode.

I hope they would change the animation of the OP

That was such an epic episode!

Along with Brynhilder of Darkness and The World is still beautiful, this will be an epic season. Of course, there are other good ones and Mekaku City actors as well.

But this was beautiful.

Like I expected, amazing.

The new fripside opening makes Railgun openings look bad in comparison IMO. I loved this new opening so much I already ran 7 miles on the treadmill listening to it. I think I even like it more than Brynhilder of Darkness's.

Considering the epic music, VA's, animation, opening, and ending this show is golden. I'm very excited.

Episode 1 10/10.

Of course, the mention that the virus is spread through bodily fluids seems to be a major obstacle for Enju getting intimate with anyone... I also have to wonder what sort of life a ten-year-old has had that she's not only aware of the details of sex and methods of seduction, but perfectly willing to try them out herself.

Wish the color pallet was a little stronger. I can't get used to this animation. Fight scenes were pretty good though. Glad crunchyroll didn't screw up the translation of varanium. ED was pretty good and I don't even like EDs.

episode 1 didn't really grab me.
Standard monster menace with an MC that works at an agency that's going to deal with case files every episode dropping vague hints that will end up with a small climax at the end of the season.

The loli sidekick is funny, but I don't think its enough for me to keep following. This is coming on a dry day as far as weekly anime is concerned though, so it might be something to watch just because its there.
