Meanwhile, WOWOW updated with the synopsis of ep 7 - seems like the earlier short synopsis was correct.

Vincent-tachi manage to "shake off the attacks from Romdo" and finally escape the Commune. They decide to head straight for Vincent's hometown the Mosco Dome, travelling over frozen land. However the climate proves to be too harsh for some people, and begins taking away the lives of the people left.

This kind of implies that Vincent-tachi includes more than Pino, Ril and Quin. There must be some other stragglers as well who end up dying.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but DVD 1 comes out May 25th for 2800 yen. To quote from CD Japan::

Well, well, well.

Congratulations, guys! Those who've been bitching about the quality of the previous episode will feel elated. Episode 6 kinda brings us back to high quality stuff. Think episode one! Clear lines, beautifully drawn smooth faces, everything clear and not covered in dirty annoying blur.

It was clearly an upwards turn compared to the latest batch of episodes.

However, the plot is kinda getting bogged in its own complexity.

So, Ril is sick, but Hoodey doesn't have a vaccine. Queen has a vaccine but won't give it to Vincent, unless he helps the refugees get to a dome. Hoodey tells Vincent that Romdeau medicine can save Ril, so he takes her there in her hovercraft (or so we are lead to believe).

If that wasn't confusingly pointless, it gets kinda worse. As the refugees prepare to take off in their flying craft, Techibis attack them for no reason. Why? Because of Ril? But they know that she was taken to the Dome. Secondly, the refugees somehow know about the attack beforehand and stock up on weapons. What? Don't look at me, I don't know the answer either. Finally, Daedalus and Raul learn that Ril arrived back. Raul thinks that Vincent is coming back, and is getting kinda obsessed about the fact. Little does he know that it's not Vincent, it's Hoodey.

And what's Hoodey's thanks for saving Ril? He gets offed by the Techibies. WTF? Oh, and Queen is killed as well (as is a bunch of other refugees). And then she gives Vincent the vaccine. Once again... WTF? Ril is already gone...

So, Pino, Vincent and the 3 refugees who cooked dinner the last episode fly to Mosk in their flying craft, while Ril is transported to a medical fascility by Daedalus and Co.

As you can see, most of the episode didn't make any sense at all. Desipite the much better sakuga work, it was a big letdown. However, as absurd as the main storyline is, there were several very cute points.

1. Vince spends most of the time open-eyed.

2. Vince rushes in to save Ril from Queen (fans of the couple - rejoice, he is as obsessed about her, as she is about him). Hell, Vincent actually blushes!

3. Speaking of obsessions, what's going on with Raul? When he thought back to the murder scene at the mall, I kinda started thinking that you guys might be on to something and he is indeed "The Father".

However, he never thought about the lady or the child! He only thought about Vincent and the proxy that was following him. And he was extremely agitated about it; to the point of telling Kristeva to mind her own business! Secondly, he was very much looking forward to getting Vincent when the hovercraft got back to the Dome and was again very agitated when he got shafted about it.

This has NOTHING to do with the lady and baby. In fact, this was all about Raul and Vincent. What's going on here? Why does Raul need Vince so much? I thought Daedalus was in charge of the Amrita Project? Is Raul somehow connected as well?

All in all, a lot of questions asked, little of the answers gotten. This show is getting weird to the point where I start worrying. And with the main cast separating and the Proxy thing getting nowhere near resolved, this does not look promising.

But, it still looks pretty. And there's a gosurori Ril. Well, kinda semi-loli. Not Pino-level loli, but still very cute. Seems like Ril and Daedalus were childhood friends, or something like that. 8)

Nice to hear ep 6 has good animation! Ep 5 was worrying me because although the faces looked great there was practically no movement.

And I'm roaring to see Vincent! Vince~nt! Woohoo. Although what you described of the episode really does feel very confusing... guess I'll have to watch it for myself...

But... for the two main characters to be separated, I guess they'll start developing separate plotlines. I hope they do it properly.

edit: Oh yeah, I think 1 episode for a dvd is not that strange when it comes to anime in Japan ... they want to suck the money right out of you. I wonder why this show has got a strange number of eps, 23... usually it's 24 or 26 isn't it? Maybe the last ep is going to be 1 hour.

Another thought I had about this episode is that there is something fishy about Daedalus.

People have expressed their concern about his motives before, but until now I never felt there was anything insincere about him or that he had any nefarious plans. But this episode sort of establishes that he is into something neck-deep. It was especially clear when you compare his attitude and his composure during his scenes with Raul's agitated and disoriented state.

Hell, Daedalus even had this little sattisfied semi-evil smile when he finally got to Ril, as if telling us, the audience, something along the lines of: "Yes, my Grand Master Plan is finally back on track". It was very subtle, and maybe I am reading too much into it, but he definitely behaved differently this time, being not his usualy scientific/concerned friend of Ril.

He also reacted quite calmly to Hoodey's death. In fact, there was no reaction at all, as if it didn't concern him or it was absolutely normal.

His reasons for watching those videos of young Ril were also out of context and his motives were impossible to judge at all.

EDIT: Okay, I watched the ep. This was yonks better than ep 5! I didn't think it was as confusing as MrProphet made it out to be.

The reason why the Techibies attacked the ship is probably because they automatically do that. Remember in episode 3 when Vincent first got outside they had to hide from roaming Techibies? I believe they attack most things (that don't identify themselves, unlike the ship Ril was carried in) that fall inside a certain radius around the dome. The refugees probably stocked up on guns because of this - and also for general use, since it's a Ugly Bad World Out There, and People Might Kill You. The fact that they actually bothered going out in a ship despite it being so risky (since they'd have to get out of the radius asap) is probably because it was led by Quin, and remember the dudes saying Quin had gone a little nutters after Timothy died? As to why the rest of the people would follow Quin, well by now I think we kind of know that they're all dooderheads who largely can't think for themselves.
It was worth the effort anyway because as soon as they could get the engine running they could get their asses out of the radius and hence they would be fine.

As to why Vincent decided to go with Quin and co. (yes yes, not Quin-tachi, happy?!) rather than take Ril to Romdo (*sniff* Why didn't he! *sniff* Even Raul's got the hots for him!), I think he realised the meaning of what Fudie said when he said (something to the effect of) the fact that Ril came to get him back meant that he was wanted back in Romdo, and figured it was probably not for a Good Thing. Hence he decided to move his ass off.

Originally - from the start of the episode, and the synopses - we were led to believe that he'd probably take them somewhere else in exchange for the vaccine. However, I believe this was pretty much not the case after Fudie told him that he can't trust Quin.

And I don't know if you caught it, but the "vaccine" that Quin gave Vincent really wasn't a vaccine, just as Fudie suggested. It was wine. She told him to enjoy it... after which she died, of course.

I guess Fudie was offed by the Techibies when he was in the Dome either because Raul is a terrible (but smexy) bastard and was so irritated that he wasted his time to see Vincent-tan but got a disgusting old fart instead, and hence decided to kill said fart; OR because Fudie's probably got an automatic death sentence because he's been outside for so long, and conspired to keep people outside.

Ahem. Now I shall nonsensically babble and fangirl in a manner that utterly does NOT befit this show, and you may ignore it. Actually you probably want to, don't you.

YAY! Vincent kept his eyes open! Don't you agree he looks 1000x hotter when he does??!!
No seriously, you could really feel that he was being proactive and actually doing things for once. Amazing, isn't it? The effect of eyes.

But the best part was... was... huhuhuhu....

Aaaahhh!!! Soooooo cute! Vincent is really so so so cute, and that scene was especially exquisite! Okay, well it'd be the ultimate when Vincent does that key scene from ep 1 where the Proxy lovingly wipes Ril's lips and sheds a tear... in which case I'll probably go somewhere and implode for a bit and come back 3 days later with less of the already-measly brain I had before that...
But still!! That scene wouldn't have worked if Vincent's eyes weren't open! And the way they framed the shot, with his mouth slightly open and a small sweatdrop running down his cheek... Permit me to say, "KYA~".

And loli-Ril is REALLY cute. She's kind of kept the same clothing and hairstyle but who cares! It's cute! Though it's a leeetle creepy that Daedalus was watching them, even up to her baby video. I'm really interested to see what Daedalus is going to do with Ril now... and what Ril will do in return!

But nothing could beat Pino for cuteness! Every episode she fails to stop amazing me with how irresistably huggable she is. Akiko Yajima is a GODDESS I tell you, this ep was awesome - the way she said to Quin "I'm lonely..." at the end was heart-melting ;_; Is this... moe?!! Other really, really cute parts:
-Bouncing around on the ship. Pyon pyon!!! Aaah! Stop saying pyon pyon, it's TOO CUTE!
-THE WAY SHE SAID "FUDIE" when she went up to meet him. STOP IT!!!
-"Quin, kowai no wa ippai kuru?" Nothing's going to harm you, child... It shall not happen!!!

...And so on. I swear, this is the effect of watching Ouran, it turns you into a totally irrationally crazy.... Helplessly mindless fangirl. Nooooooooooooo

I am blatantly stealing from 2ch now, but this was just WAY TOO FUNNY TO PASS UP!!!

It's a bunch of extremely, extremely, extremely summarized versions of ep 1-4 and 6 of Ergo Proxy (5 is in production). Like the show for its deep thoughts and references to philosophers and other Cool Things? Well you aren't finding any of it here!! Not even a plot. Or anything, really.

Unfortunately for many people here they are in Japanese and would lose their humour if you didn't read them in the original but I have made a (poor) attempt to... "translate" them and equate them roughly to what it means in Japanese. It is not doing justice to the hilarity of the original works! In fact I have shamelessly thrown in a bit of my own humour, or rather what would be... vaguely funny in English...

Okay, not everyone might find it funny but I was laughing more than while watching the first ep of Ouran High School Host Club so that's pretty funny to me! Meh.


Technically this would work better if I wrote on the pictures but I don't dare touch the pictures, they're too precious... Team Vincent (sheesh!) has not reached Mosco yet, but as they travel over the frozen soil they get dragged into a battlefield, caught in crossfire... Turns out that humans who fight against Autoreivs live in that place (not Mosco).

Ep 9 will be done by the same team who did ep 2 and 6 - animation studio, storyboarder, scriptwriter. Yay.

Vincent wakes up (from what? being hit?) in an unfamiliar room. Before the hazy Vincent stands a mysterious character who has a love for wine, Kazukis Hower (カズキス・ハウアー) This handsome man seems to be bewitchingly tempting Vincent... but who is he, really?

Ep 10 seems interesting.

Often called a 'paradise' by people, the perfectly controlled and regulated Romdo starts showing cracks in its system. Having noticed this, Raul and Daedalus make it a priority to patch it up. While the two of them keep their expectations of each other to themselves and an argument unfolds between them, Donov (and co.?) do not comment on anything and retreat from the scene.

Something like that, anyway. Vincent sure is the main character of this show

BTW, I´m agree with the vincent´s cute theme in ep.6 too xD (Fangirls´ll rule this world LoL). Since the OP was released in ep.3, It´s obvious that he (Vincent) is a very important character. And don´t forget he appears before Lir in ep.1 (well, technically xD).
