If you think that is wierd then you should read some of Katayama-san's earlier series, Denpateki na Kanojo.
The protagonist is Benika's son Jyuzawa Jyu and Ochibana Ame.
The series is completely messed up with psychopaths and wierd incident that will make your stomach churn.
The second and third novels within the series, "Orokamono no Sentaku" and "Kofuku Game" neither involves homicide but is more sick than the first.
If you think Hanibal Lector was wicked you should read these because you'll find that the abyss is not just staring but is at full speed chasing after you.

I will try to post Chapter three ASAP.

As for synopsis for "Orokamono no Sentaku" Jyuu gets involve in an serial case of children stolen of their eyes from their sockets.
The victims are fairly unharmed except they are robbed of their visual ability through surgical procedure.

The third novel, "Kofuku Game" is about a seemlessly wide spread epidemic of harmless school pranks and bulling that is spreading at an expediential level. Jyuu is fingered a groping suspect and Ame's younger sister ,Hikaru who vouched for Jyuu not being a groper is now being targeted, rumored as a slut and prostitute in front of her one sided idol. Jyuu feels responsible and gets involved finding a more deeper and darker conspiracy invloving multiple schools within the district.

OK here is Chapter Three Part One.
I think everyone will enjoy it with Murasaki and Yuuno's interaction with poor Shinkuro caught in the middle as always.

There are a lot of cross roads in life, Shinkuro thinks to himself as he reads the newspaper about a Japanese Major leaguer making the headlines.
I wonder if I only kept trying, if I didn’t give-up I could have make it into at least the second roster for neighborhood little leagues team, if so my circumstances may have changed, my family may not have died from those changes. Shinkuro then shakes his head as he thinks it is meaningless to think what could have happened.
In his room on a cool Saturday afternoon, Murasaki was sitting next to him doing her homework. It looks as if she is not good at math as she counts her fingers. Shinkuro guesses that in the unique environment of the Oku-no iin, math was not needed.
Murasaki looks up to Shinkuro as she asks for help. Shinkuro takes a peek into her drill papers as he folds the newspaper.
Whenever Murasaki is given homework she’ll usually drop by to Shinkuro’s room. She says that she can settle down better here then her mansion. Shinkuro had no reason to reject so he let’s her do whatever she wants not locking the door so she can enter whenever she wants. He trusts Tamaki and Yamie and he really doesn’t own anything valuable in his room in the first place.
“Oh, I see” answers Murasaki as she listens to Shinkuro on how to solve the problem and starts digging into the drill again. Shinkuro watches as Murasaki fills in the answers thinking she writes in a graceful matter with beautiful writing for her age.
Shinkuro thinks about himself when he was about her age remembering the attitude he took thinking what use will this be every time he got stuck with his home work not being able come up with an answer but for Murasaki it was different. Her attitude was, what she doesn’t know she wants to know which cannot be explained by mere will of aspiration.
Murasaki’s true characteristics can be explained from her attitude. She will face any problem heads on and will not retreat. This will make her life difficult in this cruel world for sure, the only thing he knows is that he will do whatever is within his power for her when that time comes to do whatever she asks of him.
As he makes his self-commitment towards Murasaki, Murasaki asks again for help point her finger to another problem.
Shinkuro stares for a moment, feeling something is wrong. Murasaki is smart enough not to make the same mistake twice. Then Shinkuro faces towards Murasaki and confronts Murasaki why is she making a mistake on purpose.
Murasaki tries to deceive Shinkuro but even though she is good in seeing through lies she was terribly bad in making one. Shinkuro just gives her a cold stares thinking it will have better effect than to scold her for her misbehavior.
After a moment of silence, Murasaki gives in confessing to Shinkuro with a fragile small voice, “,,Because you’re leaving for work after I finish my homework, aren’t you.”
I see that is why she was doing it on purpose, Shinkuro now understanding Murasaki’s feelings tells her that it’s all right since he does not have any for today.
Murasaki ask if it is the truth, Shinkuro simply nods to assure Murasaki that he is telling the truth, immediately brightening her face with joy.
“Is that so, you don’t have any job for today, that is great.” exclaims Murasaki where Shinkuro thinks no, not really as he lets out a sigh but was not going to say it out loud spoiling her joyance moment.
Shinkuro was keeping his schedule open after calling Lucy hearing that he needs to take a test and will be contacting him shortly to discuss details.
“So Shinkuro you’ll be with me all day today!” asks Murasaki confirming Shinkuro’s schedule in which Shinkuro replies that is about right.
A cheerful Murasaki stands up with her drill paper, pencil and eraser in her hands and moves towards Shinkuro to sits on his lap.
Shinkuro caught off guard by Murasaki’s sudden move asks what she was doing.
Murasaki simply asks if he minds.
Shinkuro replies he doesn’t but still doe not understand why.
Murasaki adds that it is the warmest place in his room.
Shinkuro notices a mistake and points it out to Murasaki where she answers “I know but the number alignment looks better this way, don’t you think?”
Shinkuro warns her to do her homework more seriously, telling her she will never finish if she keeps fooling around.
“Then let’s be together.” Replies Murasaki.
“You know you need to go home.” Shinkuro answers back when Murasaki replies back “Let’s get married. then nothing can part us.”
Shinkuro just answers back that that is not possible, where Murasaki puffs her cheeks out of protest but Shinkuro tells her it is not going to change anything.
Murasaki then changes her approach asking Shinkuro if he had anyone else on his mind.”
Shinkuro a little surprised not of the question but because no one came to mind. He used to imagine a lot but now no one.
He imagine of himself in the future being with a wife surrounded by two cute children, but then he thinks it lacks reality with his present situation.
Shinkuro snaps out as Murasaki looking up from her position on his lap and asks again if he had anyone else in mind.
Shinkuro knowing it is useless telling a lie in front of her just answers vaguely that he has not considered marriage at the moment, when he hears a familiar voice from behind.
It was Yuuno questioning the two what is it about marriage.
Shinkuro quickly turns his head where he finds Yuuno standing inside.
“ Ahhhh~ Yuuno-san I would appreciate it if you knock before entering.” Shinkuro stutters as he corrects Yuuno-san of her conduct.
Yuuno childishly answers back, “I did, in my imagination anyways,” and smiles back.
Shinkuro dumbfounded, just asks wearily if she can do it in the real world as well.
Yuuno apologies and moves on asking Shinkuro if she heard right, something about marriage.
Shinkuro knowing it is going to become complicated then it already is, suddenly covers Murasaki’s mouth and replies not knowing what she was talking about with a wearily smile.
Yuuno observes Shinkuro’s smirking and Murasaki’s forced mumbling with her mouth covered for a while and lets out a sigh.
Yuuno then says, “No matter, we will be playing husband and wife in a little while,” as she grins towards Murasaki as if she was showing off her newly won victory.
Murasaki finally breaking free from Shinkuro’s gag, first glares at Shinkuro then Yuuno demanding what she wanted in her usual domineering attitude still on Shinkuro’s lap.
Yuuno not letting down her smile answers back that she had brought over some sugar glazed sweet yam she had made and offers some as a sign of truth. Yuuno hands a container to Shinkuro as she put on her apron and prepares tea.
As Yuuno do chores around the kitchen, she asks Murasaki if she needs help with her homework.
Murasaki offended by Yuuno’s statement tells her to mind her own business turning down her offer. Shinkuro trying to mediate the situation pushes a piece of yam into Murasaki’s mouth telling Yuuno that her cooking is delicious as usual.
Yuuno hides her mouth as she thanks Shinkuro’s kind words telling him it is nothing, telling him it is only natural as a female as she again grins towards Murasaki.
Murasaki accepts Yuuno’s provocation answering back “I can cook as good as you and Shinkuro will vouch my fine cooking, right Shinkuro?” as she turns towards Shinkuro.
Murasaki notices Shinkuro was not looking towards her and asks why she was not receiving his assurance.
Shinkuro answers back that his conscience is not allowing him to. Shinkuro was expecting the worse from Murasaki when his mobile rings.
“Save by the bell” thinks Shinkuro to himself as he answers the phone.
It was Lucy of Akuu Shokai. Shinkuro not wanting for Murasaki to hear the conversation, places Murasaki off his lap as he steps towards to a corner of the room.
Shinkuro questions if it was about the test Lucy was talking about before and listens to the details as Murasaki and Yuuno was hotly debating about being accepted by the groom’s family and having the groom enter the bride’s family.
“Kurenai Yuuno, how elegant it sounds. The combination was meant to be. I believe it is fate.” states Yuuno.
Murasaki answers back, ”Kurenai Murasaki. Perfect only two letters.”
“How about Hozuki Shinkuro, so powerful and yet graceful.”
“Kuhoin Shinkuro is better, six letters”
Shinkuro just watches the conversation wearily asking the two to pipe down. The two stares back forcing Shinkuro to move out to the corridor as he listen’s to Lucy’s instruction about their next meeting.
A test by Akuu Shokai, a hurdle I myself must surmount thinks Shinkuro to himself as he feels half anxious half weary about it.
He returns back into the room as the two were still at it with their debate. Shinkuro knowing that both will be attacking him if he carelessly tries to mingle into the conversation just quitely pours tea for the two and tries to keep a distance.

I've just read passed the 4th chapter mark, and I'll say this: Shinkurou really don't suit this job as a mediator well at all. In fact, he does much better as just a high-school harem lead :3

Seriously, between all his conversation with Murasaki, Ginko, Yuno to even Kirihiko (regular)... You wouldn't think otherwise.

I think Yayoi was inoculated during her time training as a ninja since she shows no symptoms.
There is also Yamie and Tamaki but I guess they are immune to the disabling "Harlem virus".

Symptoms; High pulse rate, not able to think straight when in close contact with the source, mood disorder, etc.

Chapter 10 of Kure-nai Manga is out

This chapter deals with Shinkurou and Murasaki visiting Yuno's home, as well as the revelation of the Hozuki family's past and reputation.

Plenty of cute Yuno moments when Shinkurou says the darnest things to her I wish they had keep these in the anime -_- In addition, they also should have kept Yuno's Miko outfit -_-

Wow...Chapter 8 sure was a different take from what the anime showed (or is it the other way round).

This felt like an alternate reality
Was the initial meeting between Murasaki and Shinkurou really like this?

The character changes from being "cute and adorable" is quite outstanding. Murasaki doesn't seem at all that much adorable than in the anime, yet I don't hate her.

But I do find it funny the changes...like how Benika FORCED Shinkurou to take care of Murasaki (collar grab and all) and how "smart ass" Murasaki is acting...first with the tear drops, then with yelling "commoner!".

Still though, Tamaki owned her by hugging her like a pillow

And another change from the train "granny bullying" scene. In the manga Shinkurou did think of acting but was a step slower eh.

Although the anime was interesting in it's own way like the very bad broadway musical episode which was aload of laughs.
I always thought it was very much dumb-down from the original novel.
Shinkuro, Murasaki and even Renjo was much more interesting as a character in the novel.
Yamie was much more mystic, and Yuuno, well let's just say she was much more "Fun".
On the otherhand Yayoi was virtually non-existent.
The fights were much more intense. On the other hand the horn of Hozuki was meaningless within the anime, so why even mention it?
I think the manga is doing a great job being faithful to the original content and I hope they keep it up.

To be honest I hope Brain Base will not do Denpa-teki na Kanojo because I think it will be more interesting if it was faithful to the original content with all the gore in it.
If they dumb down the wacko psychopath serial killer and accomplice and/or Ochibana Ame then the they will lose all meaning to the whole theme to the story.

Yup, in the novel it was at a hotel and not at the Kuhoin mansion.
Benika and Yayoi went in with guns a blazzing while the gaurds were fighting back with I think submachine guns and they certainly did not sneak in from back door.

The horn actually showed it's true stength at the last fight with "Iron Arm" Daniel Blanchet of Akuu Shoukai.
The horn is actually a bio-turbo that increases strength, speed and physical endurance during usage putting Shinkuro into berserker mod and not a weapon itself. In other words the horn is like a turbo in a F1 machine, place it in a normal car on the street and the chasis will never hold. The only way for the horn to work properly is to match the spec of the chasis with the power out put of the horn.
The sole purpose of the Hozuki ryu "Bone breaking" rigorous training is to develop a body that will match the power of the horn.

Yeah, I was talking about the current arc in the manga and not the entire manga itself but I think the character's personalities are faithfully represented.

Manga chapter 11 is out.

This chapter really shows how much the anime diverged from the manga / novel in characterisation - and I definitely prefer this version, if only because all the characters are far, far more competent. Murasaki may still be inexperienced and spoiled, but she's quick-witted and very sharp. And Shinkurou, unlike his anime counterpart, is actually decisive and quick to take action when it counts. Heck, even Tamaki gets to do something useful.

The other thing that works much better in the manga than the anime is Murasaki's attraction to Shinkurou. The difference is that this Murasaki isn't just sheltered baggage that needs to be cared for and defended; she actually brings useful political and observational skills to the table, and deals with Shinkurou on a much more equal basis. She's still too young, of course, but you can already see the qualities that will make her a formidable contender for Shinkurou... if she can hold off Ginko and Yuno for the next 6-10 years or so.
