And so my favorite fight in the series begins with a bang. & of course the juicy parts won't be until next weeks episode, though you've just gotta love the start of it. Especially 17's shocked faced at Piccolo's first few attacks.
Cell should be appearing at the end of next weeks episode, so i'm surprised the preview didn't show that.

Ok, the fight was pretty awesome. I think 17 is the only character who doesn't use ki attacks, which makes the whole thing feel like a good old kung-fu fight (with flying!). Oh, and there's new fight music, for sure! Spoiler for 73 ending and preview:

Sure was. Started at 18:24, and went onto during the last part of Piccolo vs 17. Such a fantastic new pieces, which really captured the suspense of it being a fight just anyone can win, though at the same time having to end it very quickly. Also Cell's appearance on the battlefield actually sent chills down my spine.

& i'm calling it. That was easily one of the best episodes of Kai so far.

One thing the Android/Cell saga does better than any of the other arcs, IMO, is compounding one dire situation on top of another. Feels like the Z-crew was up against it since the word "go".

Also, it's almost time for Tien's time to shine.

Really liked the fight in 73, definitely one of the best fights. It's great because it's so dynamic and not a show of light speed punches, kicks and a light show in general. It felt like a fight of that caliber should feel, more or less. A lot of other fights really feel cheap and doesn't have the suspense at all.

This is definitely one of my favorites, too. I like 17's fighting style, and Piccolo is probably my favorite character. The part where they exchange smashing each other into the ground, resulting in massive craters is just perfect, fits DBZ so much. I remember liking the upcoming Cell vs. 16 fight a lot as well, though I don't remember it very well. It is just nice to see these unorthodox matchups without Goku, Vegeta, or Gohan involved.

If anyone is interesting in seeing the difference in Wakamoto's performance between Z and Kai, then check this video out.

Wakamoto has clearly become a more versatile VA since the original series. The old clips sound like most characters I've heard him voice, whereas the new ones you can definitely see how he makes an effort to add "Cell-like" effects to his voice. That's great.

I haven't been keeping up with Kai lately, but that's pretty interesting actually. I always tend to think that he has such a distinct voice with little variation in it, but listening to those two back to back, he really can add some differences to his performance
