In Trigun Meryl obviously loves Vash but does Vash love Meryl? Although everyone says they do (and i couldn't agree more) but I want to be sure. So could you also give some reasons to support your answer.

Anyway, I'm also of the opinion that he loves her, but there's not a whole lot of evidence other than it being hinted at here and there. One of my favorite examples:

sort of, I think he knows meryl loves him and he "likes" her but because he is an alien he really doesn't seem like he wants to be in a relationship with her. besides vash loves everybody

I think so, Vash like or maybe love Meryl but because he's not purely a "human being" that's why he doesn't wanted to have a relationship with her..

Vash cares about her very much but he doesn't seem to have much of a romantic interest in humans, which is understandable...

But, he does show affection towards meryl (hugging scene anyone?) and i've heard he comes back to the village to be with meryl.

well, I've always viewed it as sort of a mutual neglect of the relationship, sorta like wolfwood and milly's thing, though that got resolved quickly and simply. But that not really something that's all that important to the storyline, besides, there are a few instances where it's suggested that vash is more or less ill-equiped.

i dont really wanna see vast w/ meryl but it is hinted that meryl liked vash but vash showing no interest to her at all shows that he doesnt want to be involved.

plus meryl reminds him of rem who he sees as a mentor or a mother, you wouldnt wanna hook up w/ someone that reminds you of ur mother do u ? ^_^

ok that's enough of the freudian psychology for one day. Personally I think Vash and Millie have more in common then Vash and Merle. I mean it hinted from the beginning how "pure" her heart was and how it reminded him so much of Rem. But like in the last 4 episodes it all decided to change. Not to mention the anticlimatic finnish of a villian that was introduced way to late in the series and on top of that you only really saw his "right hand" man for the 2nd half.

Are there only 26 episodes or something?

Sounds about right. It's not in that other thread because it's an older series. For these, check animenewsnetwork's encyclopedia. It usually has episode counts. animenfo should work too.

You're right on the money with the episode count. The reason why it's not listed in the "How many episodes" was because there were never any bit torrents on AnimeSuki and they only list series that they had on their site at one time or another.

In episode 25 when they both sing "Sound Life" on the cliff side and Meryl sits down and says that Vash can stay in the town as long as he wants, and then he looks at her and says that it might not be such a bad idea, and they both sit quietly together and look at the stars. There's not really as much to support the idea of their romance in the manga though. Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Yet i'm still left with the same question. Who is legato... beside the obvious. And what does he have to do with vashes arm being detached, and reattached. Maybe it's in the manga, I have no clue. But it would be awsome if someone knew this tidbit, it has been bugging me for a while.

And if you havn't seen the series...don't see the spoiler Spoiler: And the only thing he has to do with the whole arm thing being he get's Vash's arm. Vash loses his arm when he first tries to attack Knives. Knives attaches Vash's arm to Legato to give Legato more power. (As in, Vash & Knives arn't human and thus have more than ordinary powers) If you watch carefully, after Knives kills the last person related to Vash's friend (the one on the ship that gave him the "No kill" mantra) and Vash attacks him, you see Vash's arm (the one holding Knives's gun) get shot off (Vash, at that time, had both the guns Knives had made). Then the Angel Arm activates with Vash's gun (which is in his right hand) and Vash shoots Knives etc. etc.... Answer your question?
