Omg. Henrietta and Jose are dead. She was never my favorite Gunslinger Girl (she's kind of a psycho really), but she's been around for...years as I've read this manga. I always thought she'd eventually find a happy ending, though in some twisted way, I suppose that's about as happy an ending she could have hoped for. :/ And Jose...poor Jose, didn't get to live long enough to get his revenge.

I'm a little unclear at the end of 85. I think Jean gets a shot off at Giacamo at the very end, but it looks like Giacamo had his arm up in front of him, and I'm betting in classic manga/anime fashion, managed to get the bullet to hit his arm rather than torso/face/etc, so I'm guessing epic showdown between the two in 86.

I wonder who's going to be left alive after all is said and done. There was no mention of Triela in 83-85, so we're still left hanging as to her and Hilshire's fate. If there's one girl I want to see make it through this series to the end, it's Triela. Still, with all the death that has happened throughout the life of the manga, I'm totally ready for an everyone dies ending. :/

I think she'll do it! There's more drama if she's the one that ends Giacomo, rather than Jean himself. Jean will have all sorts of issues to deal with then. Of the psychiatric kind.

That said, we saw a few pages earlier that Giacomo still has a weapon (submachine gun?) in his left hand. I wouldn't be shocked at all, concerning the body count, if he manages to injure Rico as he goes down.

Though it'd be even more dramatic if he flashes his trademark grin and switches his aim to Jean and pulls the trigger as Rico pulls her own. ;p

Still anxious as we STILL don't know if Triela pulls through. My guess is she will, but I want some confirmation!

How is this remotely surprising? The entire premise of the series is that the girls are brainwashed child super soldiers whose augmentations have given them extremely shortened life expectancies. All the cyborg girls from what I understand are bassically just a few years from death at this point.

Damm. Both Croce brothers are dead. Hopefully the others have a much better chance.

I don't think I could have foreseen a more fitting destiny for the Croce brothers. Jose's has been foreshadow since forever and Jean... well he probably knew it was coming anyway. At this point all that's left for me is to see what happens to Hilshire and Triela...

Hopefully there'll be a good ending with Triela. Otherwise he should just end it now. I don't think I can take having a new cast of girls only to have the same thing happen again.

While she's reading the letter, all around Italy, the government is cracking down on the Pandanias while the fates of the SWA at the plant is uncertain with the last scene seeing Triela and Hilscher slumped together. Cue tears from that lawyer.

SWA HQ fears the worse when they haven't receive any communication from any of the squads. One of the higher ups of the SWA suspects the Italian Prime Minister plan all along to have both Pandanias and the SWA killed in Turin. The chairwoman of the SWA sends in a rescue team to save the survivors while the scientists stay, having discovered something important about the cyborgs. Meanwhile, the young soldier girl that Jean told not join the Turin assault comes back to Turin as it is reveal she is actually Enrica's friend in soccer who joined the Carabinieri to take revenge for Enrica's killing. Eventually she finds Dante still alive and wants to shoot him but can't do.
