Oh, if anyone there is a big live-actions fan then here is the big moment, it seems online at heros-web have released the first chapter of the manga version of Kamen/Masked Rider Kuuga.
I must say I was surprised that they kept some elements from the first episode while making big differences in some of the scenes. Here is hoping to some translations for this series and to have good sales for it.
Also, were there be a chance there will be a thread for this in the manga section?

I think that's actually Tokitsuki Kazeno rather than Kano, and yoru rather than yo. Good work on putting those name on romaji. I'm honestly not sure myself about that bakenekojima and Hijikata Mitsuki, especially the later. Could be a lot of different reading combinations >_<

Hijikata was a lucky pick, actually. The first one was Ubukata until I double checked by Googling the cover of the light novel. It was one of the things I need to do because a lot of fantasy LNs use a Romanized title like Shinmai Maou no Testament (Testament of Sister New Devil).

I don't think they were missed, more like very few people care for light literature such as MW, hence this label's just generally ignored. The few people that cared enough to post about them (so few in number you can count them with two hands for a board with thousands of posters) like neosam (creator of this thread), Doraneko, apr/patrik (maybe still lurking somewhere) either stopped posting, or just took it to PMs.

There was even a time when we debated whether it's even on topic to post about light literature here. From to time, there were posts about them in the LN recommendation threads, but like usual, nobody really cared except for the posters themselves (and maybe like 3 other people). This same reason is why female oriented LNs like Cobalt releases are totally ignored too. While there are a lot of fun series, most residents of animesuki don't have access to them; thus, discussion, and by extension interest, remains non-existent here.

This is kinda funny too because light novels have been on the decline, and major publishers are all going toward light literature in search of the next big hit like Biblia. While there's a movement for quick money grab by creating labels that specifically aim to sell web novels with established readership, but those tend to be content with just few thousand copies per volume due to minimal effort (money) to promote those books by the publishers.

Hero Bunko being the first one to latch onto this was quite successful, everyone else is just trailing after. There is literally zero 20k+ seller for new, non web-authors for light novels for the past 4 years. Talk about depressing situation for aspiring authors, not to mention the whole deal with "no barrier to entry" for Narou-kei stories bringing bunch of other problems too, but I've gone off topic for long enough.

I personally care for their releases, so there's more peoples around that you think (well, I'm not especially active here, I admit, so it doesn't make a difference... But that's also because most of the LN I read don't have a thread for it (Kyoukaisen-jou no horizon, Q series, reinousha minato, most of the single volume titles I read, and so on...), or already have threads on other boards I use).

I buy both Biblia and Reinousha Minato from them, which is two of the series they advertise the most for.
I also buy single stories volume from them on a regular basis as well.

You're over exaggerating a bit. NGNL's author has started writing LN less than 4 years ago, isn't a web author, and is clearly above 20k per volume, and I came with him as an example in about 15 seconds and no search on the oricon chart, so there are definitely others as well.

Are the LN sales really declining? I think it has always been like this, with few titles getting over 20k/volumes and a few hits here and there making several thousands, and very rare titles with more than one million/volume. At least that's the impression I had from the oricon charts over the years.

I never said you didn't, I said the board as a whole has very few people who cared. I mentioned Q before in this thread, mentioned it again for the Drama adaptation thread but nobody cared; 9s thread is dead and Minato has even less of a presence than 9s here; Biblia also has a thread and is also dead. Horizon is not light literature.

Again, I doubt you can name more than 10 active people who actually care for MW here outside of just looking and covers.

Look at the total # of publications at ラノベの杜. LNs peaked last year and is dropping.
As for the sales, see how few are from after 2010. Dig around 2ch's archives, a lot of them did way better even before anime adaptation. Not to mention there are barely any megahits outside of Narou now.

What do you mean it's not light literature~ It's dengeki bunko so it's a light novel. Yeah, it's heavy in weight, but it's not like it's mattering for being a light novel or not x).
I know you mentioned Q series before, since you're in fact one of the main causes of my purchase of this series, as I took interest in it after reading some of your posts/ publics messages talking about that series. See, some people aren't telling it but we're reading your recommendations just fine

By 9s being dead you're talking about the publication I suppose? Well it seems that the author is taking a break from this series and focusing on reinousha minato instead indeed, although the main problem here is like for most LN on animesuki the fact that it's not being translated (except in Chinese, I think)~. If that series was actively translated even if the publication is currently stalled, this would still bring activity in the thread... probably~

I'm honnestly not active enough around there to know a lot of users. It's obvious that you won't have a lot of people taking an interest in MW on an international boards compared to dengeki bunko for example. 10 active people is more than enough to have discussions, though. I understand what you mean, but I think it can't really be helped. There isn't that much people around here reading titles directly in japanese, and since there's a lot of titles, chances of having several readers for a precise series is low outside of famous titles (although the recommendation thread can actually help this by inciting other to read what you're reading, that's also why it's a nice thread to use~).

Note that since you say "literally no author" by finding one your sentence was already proved wrong, but let's see... Less than 4 years, we said?
-Wataru Watari started his ayakashigatari less than 4 years ago, and this was his first title, so that's two (I'm counting NGNL BTW, since I don't see why an anime advertisement should exclude it more than another type of advertisement)
-Tatsunoko Tarou's first title was mondaiji, so there's him too;
-Oomori Fujino is a completely new author and his first series is selling quite well (and while an anime was announced, it has yet to be aired) (EDIT: since I think this one may actually comes from Narou -I don't know Narou at all, to be frank-, I'll add another title below just in case)
-Same goes for Last Note. He's even more of a new author and his Mikagura gakuen series is doing fine.
-Sagara Sou's first work is hentai ouji, so new author as well.

Here we are, five. There's also some authors I came across that had work more than 4 years ago but who only did good sales with works from less than 4 years ago.

Obviously you're going to have more titles from more than 4 years ago than the contrary. That's the total number sold. Meaning, the more volume published a series has, the easier it will be to get high number. See among the top a series like Index. Yes it's from more than 4 years ago. Obviously it is. It gets that high BECAUSE it is. Not a single series above the 10 million mark has less than 17 volumes, and authors usually don't publish 17 volumes of a same series in 4 years, except if they're called hihihi (Eerr...I mean, Akira)...Also, lots of those have an anime adaptation, so why were you refusing NGNL earlier. In fact, recent LN series have less chance than long runner series to already have received the benefit of an anime adaptation in their sales. As such, it's another disadvantage, even by taking the column sales per volume.
Also, that list is extremely incomplete as soon as you go down a little in numbers, as even me who doesn't care a lot for sales can point out series I read that had leaflet displaying total sales number far greater than the cut off which are not in that list at all.

Light novels may be selling worse than before, I'm not saying the contrary. But that link doesn't convince me about it.

And of course they're searching for the next hit. Publishers always are. They're dreaming of finding the next haruhi/ biblia or whatever. it's the same with manga, with some of the best seller series ending, they're searching actively the titles that could replace them. There's nothing surprising in it imo.
