Smile Anime that has taught you how to cry again.

Gotta get this topic started before sleep overtakes me and the passion cools.

What anime have you seen that has allowed you to reach inside to the kind and decent part of you that society has forced you to believe is weak (especially if you are a man) and indoctrinated you to seal off, and remind you that its okay to have a heart?

Too many to list, personally, but here's two to kick it off.

Fist of the North Star.

Slams the door in the face of people who rant and rave on and on that "real men don't cry." This classic shows that it takes a righteous, strong and pure (AKA manly) heart to be able to feel love for your fellow human beings. This anime shows that yes, it's MANLY and perfectly okay for men to cry, even big and strong ones.

K-On!! (Both Seasons)

Yes, I admit some bias for this series because it stars My Adorable Wife Yui, but on the most fundamental level this fuwa-fuwa (fluffy and soft) and heartwarming sleeper hit gives us all a chance to have a happy childhood, to reconnect with that idealistic and brave youth inside us who believed that he or she can conquer the world with love and bravery alone. K-On allows one to reconnect with the happy, pure and innocent child locked deep inside by the heavy chains of adulthood; and in this sad and bitter age, that's nothing to sneeze about.

More to come later. How about you?

I've never really cried at a specific series (But I expect to when I'm finished with K-On!!), but the movies Grave of the Fireflies and Spirited Away (my favorite movie!) have made me get a bit teary eyed... okay I cried.

Most of the world masterpiece theater series are masterpiece when it comes to sad anime...

sample are Romeo's Blue Skies, Remi's nobody's girl and Dog of Flanders...

For the current anime...

I think True Tears, and Ga-rei zero made me tears

I agree with you on this thing.

As for me, I think the only anime that made me cry is Soukyuu no Fafner. K-ON!! also made me almost shed tears. That anime really caught my emotion.

For me, simply put, ANYTHING that is made by KEY: Air, Clannad, Angel Beats!, Kanon. Countless times I had to rip my heart out to remove the feeling of having to fill up the void within me/being human.
Oh and at one point 7th and 27th episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and Gundam 00 episode 23. RIP Lord Kamina, Nia and Lockon/Neil.

Eyes Tear at the same time with rage.
Episode 05 of Elfen Lied, Episode 02 of MM!!, Episode 15 of Black Lagoon, Episode 08 of Uta-kata, Episode 21 of Clannad Afterstory. K-ON didn't bring much drama due to Ritsu.

After my pet guinea pig died I couldn't cry because I was in so much shock.
But watching the Makoto arc in Kanon 06 made me remember him and so I was finally able to cry for him. (I was also crying for Makoto too.)

Air (TV), and Angel Beats! carry that special distinction for me. Several shows came close, but didn't succeed like these two did. These two series are part of my favorites, too.

Oh god this.

I think that was the second time in all my years of watching anime that I actually cried. The first time was during Air.

Angel Beats, K-On!!, and Kanon 2006 all deserve an honorable mention for bringing me close to tears.

Though english is probably not your first language, you know enough of the language to post and hence you should understand what "the happy, pure and innocent child locked deep" means, so i can only assume you are deliberately trolling for flames.

Happy trolling then
