That was some sappy stuff. The girls prioritized their friendship with a girl they barely know over everything else. That I can understand since they're still young and naive, but Grandpa too?! That speech about friendship was just...
I have nothing against "the power of friendship" when it's done well (I even enjoy it!), but this was plain bad. Ah well. I'll just keep enjoying the butts and the happy flying lesbians.

Did not expect that to happen near the end. What the hell. Fuck that crow!
I was really expecting to see Akane do such a speech, but man Dr. Isshiki really likes doing things himself if he can. But to be the one who has that much faith in his grand daughter, her friends, and humanity as a scientist. I'm sort of speechless there.

Personal theory about Dr. Isshiki's mention of friendship: Instead of torturing, why not use a less harsher way to coax answers out?
I mean after a few moments Rei finally answered. =================== Also... Paging TSAB/Symphogear/anyone with superhuman powers, we have a world destroyer on aisle 10.

Wow. The "kill Rei = fail test" and "insane crow" moves were great. Basically all the good characters put their feelings and ideals before their reason in this episode, but then you hear that following reason would have had them all killed. The crow meddling with things will also make the resolution of some plot points much easier.

Summary of Episode 11: blahblahFriendshipFriendshipblahblah
Hope the final episode has tons of docking goodness. Because I think this series has way too much talk, and not enough docking. I laughed @ when the Crow suddenly just ate Rei up. So unexpected. And the girls were like "OMG!!!"

I wasn't making a reference, but a little research suggests you're talking about Rebuild of Evangelion, which I haven't watched. Since the full line is apparently "I want Rei. GIVE HER BACK!" the comparison does seem eerily appropriate.
