I am surprised that everybody is speaking Japanese, and then suddenly Ruby speaks in english. For something like this you would've expected them to use the Japanese dub cast, but it's awesome they got the original VA's from Rooster Teeth to lend their voices here.

Problem with Guilty Gear joining is from a gameplay POV. Guilty Gear fighters will LOSE A LOT by going from a 5 buttons to a 3+1 scheme. Capcom have had a lot of headache in Capcom vs SNK series, the first game have had a 4 buttons layout, meaning that the Capcom side lost their medium attacks and SNK side was nerfed Hardcore. The second game got a little better with 6 buttons.

It is probably more of an issue regarding the sprite animation than the gameplay. I mean, Persona Arena gameplay is hardly similar to BB considering the autos and so forth, and we don't even know if BB characters won't be "nerfed" either depending of the main gameplay.
OTOH, they can't really use the old assets for GG chars and doing 2D sprites for them from scratch would be expensive as hell (although they gotta do that for RWBY chars so your guess is as good as mine regarding that kind of decision). I'm still quite baffled they just put UNIEL and RWBY like that, especially the latter.

Aside from RWBY characters, most likely the sprites will be reused wholesale from their original game. Even then, I don't expect the roster to have an even distribution. I don't think there will be many RWBY characters, for example.
The real question is what kind of mechanics will be used in the game and how it will be balanced. UNI characters don't exactly work well without Reverse Beat mechanics, and giving them either double jump cancels or roman cancels for free is going to spell disaster. Narukami is also fairly broken already, so bringing him into the game with no limits on Persona summoning is a little... When their original games are already unstable enough regarding balance, I can't help but be skeptical about a crossover with all of them combined. |
