Albion's body remained on the Earth orbit. This might be suggesting us something: Albion was no longer on Oberon. How it transport itself differently into the Earth sphere during the fight might be a hint on that too.

In other words, Albion might have been physically present on Earth all this time together with Blumen. This add to the possibility that Albion might have brought the Blumen here, as I don't believe Blumen had the ability to arrive onto Earth just by itself.

Its a complement but not exactly pretty, in context Iro Otoko means playboy or a guy who attract girls around.

It boil down to Daichi saying stop acting cool to Teppei.

Decent ep, one mostly centered around some story building of Teppei and Kil-T-Gang in general. To be honest the story, while not unpleasant seems to me to be a little bizarre.

So humans are regarded as food by Kil-T-Gang and what they eat is their libido? Or something like that? And somehow the bodies themselves were called "avatars" ... umm... does that imply that their "real form" or "original form" or "primary form" are those mecha things? Or perhaps something else? Then there is the trans dimensional gun summoning MC too and the elementary school being that gave it to him as well.

Yessir, lots going on here - but the yarn being spun is a pretty decent one so far for me.

Crack theory: I think they might be the same race as Samekh from Star Driver

If you remember that show, its main goal was to consume the entire libido of the planet

Of course if this is true, that means Captain Earth is a parallel universe to StarDriver and Samekh's race can transcend dimensional barriers. It would make sense, considering it already can travel through time.

Other than that, good episode, but I'm beginning to thing that Hana is severely underused in the show so far.

I believe that's what's been hinted at if not outright stated (I can't remember exactly) in a previous episode.

Not just girls. There's a BL manga that is called Iro Otoko. It's simply saying that he's a man who is lusted after by many (hot/attractive). If you switch the kanji order, it means sodomy.

I liked the episode and the direction it's going. But the terminology is getting difficult to keep a track on.

Anyways, good thing Salty Dog is not doing something like harassing Hana on Ep. 4! But damn, both Amara and Moco almost destroyed the Globe HQ and kidnap both Teppei and Hana if it wasn't for Daichi and his Livlaster!

Anyway...

First I learned something new this episode: apparently pulling up your shirt and showing your belly while dancing rather provocatively is the new way to make people cheer up! Yeah that's right, not make them more awkward or anything, but better.

I felt the overall episode was okay, and still beautiful technically, but... the writing is starting to trouble me now. Seeing how those two designer children just break into the base and shutdown Globe's defensive and operational systems that easily, just broke my suspense of disbelief quite a bit. If they could do that all this time, how hell haven't they gotten a Kiltgang on earth already? Nothing's stopping one of them from simultaneously performing a similar operation and sabotage Earth Engine's launch while other lands it's mech in the planet all this while. If not for Akari those guys could have escape with Teppei ages ago which brings up another problem.

Akari being the sole reason Momo and that other guy was driven off is faceplam worthy. I'm fine with her being a genius hacker and all but CE has taken the concept to the very extreme where the adults are looking pretty incompetent. You would think they have a specialist for this sort of thing or some countermeasure (even if it's not entirely optimal), but yet as usual the kids do all the work and everyone else on the staff stands around either slack jacked or yelling. The result is now the making of an all to common contrived scenario forming where the our leads solving everything regardless of it makes sense or not and the rest of cast regulated to emotional support. Which would be a real shame given how well Eureka 7 was great at making use of everyone which avoided making Renton the hero of day everytime.

Hopefully my worries are just misplaced and it doesn't end up being too shounen, by going in such a direction.

Sounds legit to me. Or would, if she were older and better endowed.

Oh, I'm not discounting the effects but ...eh Dachi being a healthy teenage boy might be getting excited for a different reason from that technique.

That was my impression coming out of this episode too. Daichi's uncle even states that if the Kiltgang makes landfall, Earth is finished, yet they didn't seem to have any back up plan in episodes 1 and 3. If Daichi didn't launch then it'd indeed have been the worst case scenario, you'd think the people of Earth would be DESPERATE to try anything to stop the Kiltgangs (like Daichi's dad), yet everyone in Globe seems to barely put any effort.

Then there's the issue they brought up this episode where they raided some corporation to get Teppei' and his Machine Goodfellow out. They also know about Salty Dog and the Ark faction. So with all these pieces of information and how desperate the situation should be, why aren't they just bombing the hell out of the corporation? Even if the Ark faction holds a lot of political power Globe still has enough firepower to pulverize the important facilities to seriously set them back.

The way things are set up now makes everything feel like a game, yet they're trying to sell the situation as world ending.

Note that it is very likely the Ark faction is not helping the aliens as much as the aliens think they are.

Highlight of the episode was Akari's magical bellybutton. Didn't care much about the rest to be honest. I'm not feeling this show at all. I found the preview alone a lot more interesting than the episode itself. Looks like we're going to find out more about Teppei next week.

@amaterasu4 - Awesome work by whoever did that photoshop.

One thing I've noticed in anime is there's often a bit of a cerebral/heart divide when it comes to anime characters. In other words, there are characters that want to figure everything out and determine the most logical course of action, and then there's those that just go with their heart in a moment-to-moment basis.

The "cerebral" characters are shrewd and try to outwit their opponents and/or achieve success through careful, realistic planning.

The "heart" characters have strong emotions and try to outwill their opponents and/or achieve success through sheer force of will.

Daichi is very much a "heart" character. He is in the vein of Honoka Kousaka, Hikari Sakishima, and Haruto Tokishima rather than in the vein of Eri Ayase, Tsumugu Kihara, and L-Elf Karlstein. However, Daichi lacks a cerebral foil, unlike the three characters I'm comparing him to here, and so his "heart" nature is perhaps not as clear as it could be.

For a "heart" character, figuring everything out is often not on the agenda. They determine what matters most to them on an emotional level, and act accordingly, within that limited sphere. And what matters most to Daichi is...

1) Carrying on the legacy of his father, who gave his life to defend Earth from alien threats.

2) Staying true to his friends and sticking up for them.

That's it. If something does not clearly and directly impact on one or both of those, Daichi doesn't care. I don't think this makes him a bad character - A lot of people in real life typically take things at a
moment-to-moment surface level, and aren't necessarily interested in "conspiracy theories" or trying to find out what key information is being kept secret from them.

Personally, I think I get Captain Earth, and I do enjoy it. That being said, I get why some may be flustered by it. "Heart" characters tend to be a bit of an acquired taste, and this show is very much defined by its "heart" lead character. That's especially true given Daichi's lack of a cerebral foil (Teppei is too quiet a character to work well as a foil).

Villain girl: "Is he a traitor?"

Villain guy: "NO WAY!"

Me: 0_O

Is this guy for real or is he just really really stupid? I mean come on!

I hope these two won't be our villains for long. They're lame... :/
