And on a more personal note, I also look forward to the day when I can shun the world of "real-life" (IE flawed) women and fling myself into world of artificial (IE perfect) girls! |

She looks like she's starting to get pissed at all his finger pointing. I'd love to have something like this on my smartphone along with a little cranky tsundere AI assistant voice (SIRI with an attitude)

Warp Drive May Be More Feasible Than Thought, Scientists Say:
"A warp drive to achieve faster-than-light travel — a concept popularized in television's Star Trek — may not be as unrealistic as once thought, scientists say. A warp drive would manipulate space-time itself to move a starship, taking advantage of a loophole in the laws of physics that prevent anything from moving faster than light. A concept for a real-life warp drive was suggested in 1994 by Mexican physicist Miguel Alcubierre, however subsequent calculations found that such a device would require prohibitive amounts of energy. Now physicists say that adjustments can be made to the proposed warp drive that would enable it to run on significantly less energy, potentially brining the idea back from the realm of science fiction into science." Much more positive news than much things of late. While for a year or so there, US space news was kind of depressing. Now we have a few corperate space ventures about ready to roll (NASA is behind, but their efforts have shifted to things outside Earth orbit), and now a potental for faster than light travel. ("But will they make it in time? There are only .... days left, before life on Earth is extingushed.")

I suppose Vexx is more concerned about the amounts of energy set free. After all they are talking about mass equivalents of energy of several tons of matter. If you consider that 5 gram mass equivalent of energy was enough to level Nagasaki.
