Les Miserables.

Just got back from watching the musical today actually.

My girlfriend bought tickets for my birthday so we went to London for the weekend and stayed in the Grange Holburn hotel which was quite nice. Twat of a drive from Liverpool like but it was worth it in the end.

They changed a few things and obviously shortened it quite a bit but it was still very good.

My GF didn't think so but she never read the book...

Oh and I have just finished Sphere by Michael Crichton. - Much better than the film and I did love the film.

And I have just started Genghis Khan Birth of an Empire by Conn Iggulden. - Too early to comment but his Emperor Seiries about Julius Caesar is one of my all time favourite collections so I expect good things.

I just finished Watchmen for the second time. It gets better and better every time I read it. Unfortunately, I've had to loan it to some friends who've never read it, so they have a chance to do so, before the release of the film.

Not so unfortunately, I get to return to The Selfish Gene, by Richard Dawkins. Hopefully it remains as good as it started.

2.フルメタルパニック・せまるニック・オフ・タイム (Full Metal Panic: Semaru Nick of Time)

3. 狼と辛香料 (Spice & Wolf) Volume 1

The last three weeks at work held enough free time available for me to read Koi by Koike Mariko. After a slow start I grew to like it after all. Although I often still have a hard time deciding whether I actually do like something once it's written in Japanese. Feels like I need a bit more practice to make a reasonable distinction between content and language. Or something like that...

History of the auto industry in the US and Japan, focusing on Ford and Nissan.

Very profound insight into the nations of Japan and the U.S.

I'm planning on reading Snow Country (Kawabata), Captive Hearts Vol. 1 (Hino-sensei) (can't wait!), and The Road (McCarthy) (re-reading before the movie comes out!!!!! great book!!!!

Finished re-reading Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami, and currently reading World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks.

World War Z was excellent! Hard-Boild Wonderland is also excellent. I think we might have the same taste in books ;]
I just finished Challenging China, which was pretty sad, and An Apple a Day, which was informative, but a bit cut and dry.

I've got The Road packed in my bag for my trip to Japan. I foolishly bought it a month early and I've been dying to read it all this time. The movie comes out in November, so everyone get your copies before they come out with shitty movie-scene covers!

I read Othello in A.P. English class. Man, I suck at Old English =/ Liked the story. Shakespeare makes the greatest plays alas I can't understand thou wordings.

I just picked up a copy of Principles of Psychology by William James (1890). Despite the obvious age, it is quite interesting. It basically laid the foundation of modern psychology. There's a lot of latin words in it that I don't fully understand, so I have to have a dictionary in hand to basically translate for me. But, despite that, it still interesting. You can actually read it online, but I prefer having a solid paper copy in my hand. Again, it's quite complicated, but still interesting if you're willing to take the time (and this means A LOT of time) to sit down and digest it.

Well, I was stuck at school today due to heavy rain and a blackout so all I could do then was re-read Thud by Terry Pratchett, since it was the only book I brought. Methinks I've read and finished it over twenty times already, but hell, I still love it.

Currently, I'm reading Silverthorn by Raymond E. Feist, and also slowly working on book two of a song of Fire and Ice, A Clash of Kings, by George R.R. Martin. After that, I'm hopefully going to also be able to get back into Soul of the Fire in the Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind
