Hmmm, might try to pick up the LN. I thought this was a interesting series. Hope there will be a second season.

I'm not a novel reader, so all I can say is that this was a fairly decent show, and considering it's just the beginning of the story I'll be forgiving of the story and characters.

That said, I'm concerned about the way the plot will play out. Raishin is ~85 opponents and days away from facing off against Magnus, which is arguably the main storyline. ~100 days of experience against somebody who's years ahead of him? I don't like his odds without bs plot devices. Meanwhile, Raishin's assembled a harem of four girls, adding one with every arc/novel. Considering that the showdown with Magnus is so far away, someone please tell me that that storyline is not just a bs premise to turn the series into an harem comedy.

7/10. I like the show, but please don't let it become like IS!

I have a bit of an opinion concerning this. Magnus seems to be the guy who stands around on high places, looking down yonder, if something is amiss he's simply "doll, you know what to do", and then his dolls do all the work.

Meanwhile Raishin jumps into death's mouth quite regularly and rips its teeth apart and then jumps back out of that mouth

What do they call it, getting one's own hands dirty? The one who keeps his skills on the edge daily is more skilled than the one who relies on past experience... I'm a bit muddled right now, but as it's been said many times before, I'm going to fear the guy who has something to fight for than the guy who doesn't have anything to fight for. Though I'm not a novel reader myself, so I have no idea what Magnus does for a living

I generally agree. Magnus is more of a bystander and lets his dolls do everything, while Raishin gets his hands dirty. Often Magnus doesn't even fight, but relies on his scary reputation. If this multiplies, then somewhere along the line Raishin will have a clear advantage.
However, you shouldn't underestimate Magnus' ruthlessness. Someone who murders his own family in cold blood just so he can build Ban Dolls with their parts...

thinking about it... you could potentially make a fortune by selling machine-service-dolls...

and can make them cater to any kind of customer.
Different age, height, shape, hairstyle, etc. dolls
Maybe even a hidden "ban-doll" for special services....

You no longer need to work at all, just let your dolls make you rich. lol

Exactly! That would be much better than making dolls for the military anyway. It hurts no one and only makes people happy.
It would be a good hentai spin-off!

The dolls are going to a certain school to learn how to be good "service dolls", and they're "trained" by their puppet masters!

The night party fights could be something like nude oil wrestling between the girls

Wait, it is over already? The end of the Elf Speeder arc was ok but there is no sense of closure at all. I want more Yaya, Frey, Machine Doll battles and more banter between Raishin and Loki, of course. I hope Lerche does another season.

Considering the current materials of the novels which are enough for another run, I too am hoping for another season, but let's just hope the sales will be enough to made this one a reality

TBH I'm one of the hater of this adaptation when it first started but still watched it up to the last episode of it, maybe I've got used in it's art style, and well, it isn't bad at all. (specially the action scenes are kinda feast in the eyes).

that is total sales for the whole franchise for that year. So yeah, SAO is that popular.

Would've never guessed from watching the anime, which was just plain awful in a few places. Kirito certainly is the most insanely overpowered MC ever, I'd say, and the story and plot sometimes had that immese plot holes you could've flown a Boeing 747 right through them with ample space on the sides.
Never read the novels so I can't say if it was just a bad adaption, but I can't imagine that the novel can be that immensely better to be such a big hit.

Still, at least Kikou Shoujo managed to make the list, so a second season shouldn't be too unlikely

Date A Live is doing well and gets a new season in April. Yay!
Highschool DxD is still going strong, nearly as good as IS. If IS could get another season there with much less story content, DxD should be able to get another one, too! Yes, I know DxD only ended in Summer, but still... I'm having Asia and Xenovia withdrawal. I need more!

Huh, my Anime Trakr App popped a message just yesterday saying a season 2 had already been announced, but I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the net. *shrug*
