Yes, replacing them with "English" puns might work, but there you also have the problem of CONTEXT. Can they make the "translated puns" ( that doesn't make a lot of sense, now does it! ) fit into the context of the scenario...WITHOUT using too many side notes/explanations, etc.
This would be particularly important when the reactions involve names, i.e. [Onono Komachi-san <=> Okonomiyaki-san; Conan "singing his own praises" <=> Kodaimai-miso, etc.] Ah, well, I'll just see how "crappy and bastardized" the translations are when Volume 1 is released. |

The anime does not follow the manga exactly (they have the Yakitate 25 in the manga but Yakitate 9 in the anime) but the last match in the anime does occur in manga. I would say that chapter 215 in volume 24 of the manga goes beyond where the anime ended.

Is the manga still continuing now? On ANN it lists volume 22 as the latest release and that was since, April.
*Edit* Never mind I read the above post that the manga is on volume 24 now. Is the manga at a new arc though or is it near the end of Yakitate 25? |
