Parry was mentioned as one of Soujirou's specialties I believe.

It's a Samurai's skill, so yeah. And I think there are also Iaido for Samurai class (I have picked this as speciality for Freddie the American ronin).

Is Parry a passive skill, or a Parry rating for mitigation?

Calm and firm defense regardless what the situation is. While in effect, cuts a percentage of damage received. Percentage increases as damage received increases. Continuous MP cost over time. Typically used over a short period of time to tank a high-damage attack.
This be Sauce

Yeah, are those announced in the story yet? I know Strength at the very least was named.

Elemental resistances were mentioned as early as episode 3.
What are the elements?

Since Mamare has named EQ2 as one of his main source of inspirations, I think it might be good to use its attributes =3

Hmmm....

Strength: Affects the Power pool and damage amount for fighters.
Agility: Affects the Power pool and damage amount for Scouts.
Stamina: Affects the Health pool, mitigation and the chance to avoid attacks all together.
Intelligence: Affects the power pool and spell damage for Mages.
Wisdom: Affects the power pool and damage for Priests.

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Understanding_Your_Character

That seem straight forward.

Cold resistance was mentioned, and aids against regular cold as well as elemental attacks. Flame resistance also exists. Marielle wears an outfits that increases resistance against abnormal status effects. Resistances can mix as well (for example there's a pair of gloves that "increase resistance to flame and any negative status effects associated with it") or be very specific (such as an armor that provides resistance against vision debuffs). Resistances also apply to specific enemies, as is the case for Krusty's armor that reduces damage from undead and giant enemies.

So I'm thinking...

Elemental - Fire/Ice/Lightning/Poison/Holy/Dark

Status - Sleep/Stun/Cursed/Blind/Silence/Bind/Charmed

Creature type - Undead/Dragon/Beast/Flying/Reptile/Fish/Demihuman/Elemental/Giant/Plant/Insect/Demon

Wouldn't Poison be a Status rather than an Element?

It can be both I think... Because I imagine there's some creatures that spew acids so I want to group them...

Then on hindsight I probably should have called it "Venom" or "Nature" instead.

...Further on hindsight, if there's Fire and Ice, then there should be burned and freeze

Elder Tale seems to separate elemental damage resistance from debuffs. There's one item that specifically says "increases resistance against flame and negative status effects relating to it" suggesting that just flame resistance wouldn't have stopped a burning debuff.

Following that, poison itself would fit better into status effects.

Oh, and bleeding is another one, according to the Swashbuckler skillset.

I think that attribute issue should not be think about, since this is not an actual game

Just focus on surface stats like atk, matk, def, mdef, hp, mp, as, ms,...

Anyway, finished some profiles
Runeword - noncanon

Lazgrane - Melee Sorcerer
Minaz - Necromancer
Zack - Swashbuckler Butler

On the contrary, I'm thinking of making it needlessly complicated at first then have us here slowly streamline it Throw everything on the wall and see what sticks if you will

Melee:

Slash - Cause Bleeding
Pierce - Cause Crippled
Blunt- Cause Stun

Elemental:

Fire - Cause Burned
Ice - Cause Freezing, then Frozen
Lightning - Cause Paralysis
Wind -
Venom - Cause Poison
Arcane
Darkness
Divine
Psychic

Aliment:

Sleep, Bind, Silence, Blind, Crippled, Bleeding, Stun, Charmed, Cursed, Petrified, Exhausted, Confused, Burned, Freezing, Frozen, Paralysis, Poisoned, Fear.

Yeah.

I thought about it once whether I should separate [Cripple] as a physical aliment and [Slow] as a magic aliment, but decided against it and just call it [Crippled].

From the description of Frost Spear, one of Sorcerer's skills

Quote:

Impales a single target using an icicle spear for Ice-element damage. This skill inflicts a slowing debuff on the target, as well as increasing its defense for the duration. Many players learn this skill for its balance of damage, casting time, and utility that is a notch above most Sorcerer skills.
So yeah, freezing appears to cause a Slow status while increasing the frozen target's defense rating.
