Yes. It looks like Diebuster and Lagrange to me. Which is totally different from what I expect from E7.

I don't see the problem tbh.. new setting = new costume

that pilot suit still looked something out from E7 world too for me.

Some additional details about the show. Not really sounding good at all imo:

The setting is "Earth" in the year 2025 A.D. The story is about Ao and his friends fighting against monsters known as Secret. "Generacion Bull" (sp?) is a private military company in the business of defeating Secrets, and they have assembled IFO (Intelligence Flying Object) pilots with great skills - all of which are girls.

The first new character shown is a 16 year old girl from France called Flair. She's the leader of Team Piped Piper, and sees Ao as a rival. The second new character is a 15 year old girl from America called Elena. She's a geek girl and little bit of a klutz, also a member of Team Piped Piper.

No scans of the artwork yet, but...

This month's Animedia E7 AO spread is by Kazuhiro Miwa, and it shows the four characters revealed so far. The Animage E7 AO spread is by Kenji Mizuhata, and it features Ao and Naru along with a black Nirvash.

I want to believe...but it keeps getting harder and harder.

Calling it now: Renton will be the leader of Generation Bull. He'll be a drunk and abusive hobo-looking guy, and take his anger out on the pilots. Halfway through the show we'll find out Eureka somehow disappeared and then turned into the big bad guy. The finale will have a new character show up and half-explain a bunch of stuff, then we get a psychedelic ending that makes no sense.

There'll be lots of whining on the internet but it'll still sell better than the original. Even so, no third season will ever get made. The end.

Blue is generally written ブルー because you need the phonic extension at the end for it to sound right. Generation is written ジェネレーション.

The PMC here is called ゲネラシオン・ブル which doesn't really seem to be English. It's not pronounced jen-ner-ration, but rather ge-ne-ra-cion. I'm really not sure what the root reference here is, so if someone knows and can point it out, that'll be cool.

The top reminds me of the pilot suit that Anemone wore.

Give it a chance, let's see how it goes... my guess is that it will start out as something that completely doesn't resemble Eureka Seven (to give new fans a chance to get into it), and then it will transition into something that both new viewers and fans of Eureka Seven can enjoy.

So is the basic thinking now that studios just can't sell Mecha anime anymore without littering them with countless multi-national female pilots?

I mean, I just don't think at this point that there is any hope for ever getting another respectable and down to earth mecha series anymore.
