I'd much rather have actual quality control then rushing a steaming dumpster fire out a month early.

I mean it's just a month, not the end of the world. Plenty of other stuff coming out then.

Yeah, exactly true. Waited years already so one month is nothing. Especially if it will save us from downloading huge GBs of data for just an update...
Thinking of getting DL version as well for the sake of preorder bonus and bring able to start at 12am sharp. Only concern as the space available on my ps4...

Not shocked tbh. I'm pretty sure most people expected this since it's squareenix.
Too bad the game will only cover the Midgar section,
Spoiler for Final Fantasy VII:

As far as delays goes this is pretty tame. Nothing to make a fuss about.

Aren't we guaranteed to have a day 1 update several GBs in size no matter when they release the game? It may limit them, but that's probably about it. On the positive whatever crippling issues that prevented them from releasing the game on time will be taken care of.

You've got time at least to free up enough space for the game . No doubt will require some efforts to fit such a big game though.

Doesn't matter to me as much since Cyberpunk 2077 has been pushed back to September.

They really didn't bother hiring someone else for young Cloud huh
JP version

We could infer before with the mob design in previous trailers, but they really intend keeping the goofy parts of the game, even characters like Palmer and Scarlet

You got two weeks to get this done, those who will try to do this cosplay at Katsucon this year.

There will be an option to change the language, right? Because damn, the english dub sounds horrible to me.

Yes, it has been confirmed several months ago. For whoever is curious, there is also a French and German trailer. While I can't say much for the GER one, the FRA one is as expected pretty bad with the 90's ish HAM voice acting. Meanwhile, it is probably going to be fixed in the retail version, but for some reasons, the "grunting" sounds for the characters in GER and FRA are from the English dub, so it is quite jarring since their voices don't sound alike at all.

Anyway, JP is pretty much my default choice for obvious reasons.

Really? Some of the voices actually sound like better fits for me compared to their Compilation voices (and I liked the compilation voices). Especially Cloud's.

The only new VA I'm really not convinced by is Sephiroth's.

I only bothered with Advent Children and I watched it in Japanese so I wouldn't be able to tell if you if the new English voices are an improvement.

I'm only comparing based on the trailers, and to me the difference is like night and day. Barret sounds particularly bad in English.

Oddly enough I rarely find myself agreeing with people online about the "trashiness" of an English dub. I wonder why.......

The Japanese and dub sound pretty even to me here, although I do think English Barret overdoes it a little.

Indeed. Can't wait to play that part of that game again in higher quality.

The problem isn't the dub but the way the sound mixing and cutting is done in the trailers. If watched the demo gameplay the va sounds fine.

They released the intro of the game. I was a bit surprised it was in CGI (I didn't remember seeing some in the trailers), but I guess it wouldn't be a FF game without it. The transition between CGI and in-game engine was well done too.
