Just because a single shot with a distorted focal plane? It's not that uncommon even in others Shaft works (and not shinbo exclusive). Bakemonogatari, at least in the first 2 episode, is more prominent in that field, and more similar in art direction to older Shinbo anime.

Well, From that Trailer we know they're at least animating to the 5th volume. But uh, I don't know if I'll be able to watch it

. I can handle reading it but the trailer, I could barely stomach that...

I know Twilight of the Dark Master... I have to assume that for Classec Shinbo you intend conventional style of direction? Because aside for art direction it's mostly not something so identifying in direction department. But it's fine for me, I didn't see anything particular in the trailer and I'm non even interested in the series.

I agree that Shinbo's style is very weak here in the trailer. The screen composition looks as normal as you can get. Though, Konno Naoyuki's style is quite strong here, judging from his work in Shina Dark music clip. I guess it's either Shaft is too busy to do the trailer on their own or Studio Pastoral is going to handle the animation in the series.

I heard it's a really good story but I couldn't even stomach the lolicon in the first chapter of the manga. It made me feel very awkward lol.

But I'm in it for werewolves <3
