Figures that it would be a bittersweet ending. Although compared to some of his other stuff this wasn't too bad and was a somewhat happy ending. Even if the big fight wasn't that great, but aside from so-so Godzilla fights, it wasn't too bad a sci-fi trilogy. As a Godzilla trilogy, I haven't watched enough to really judge it by that standard.
Spoiler for ending:

Godzilla: The Planet Eater is an example of how not to conclude a trilogy. The final act of this film is a protracted exercise in removing Ghidorah's literal plot armor coupled with the most obvious "determination check" ever. It also ends on a non-satisfyingly bittersweet note, like depression porn for the sake of depression porn instead of naturally concluding to tragedy. Notice the lack of words for the rest of the film because the final act and ending faceplanted what was otherwise a good movie
This film could be a good time though...after a few drinks

I watched the last movie now.
As a science fiction that works on many themes and explores human nature well, I found it (the trilogy) very good. The first film was the best of all, but the other two had things to add to the story. As a kaiju movie it is pretty mediocre. Espero que se houver outro projeto anime para Godzilla, que seja um filme animado convencional, de preferencia feito pelo estúdio Wit ou Bones e com uma história simples digno de um kaiju movie. |

I just marathoner the trilogy. it's good. I don't like the first because of the all hate haruo had but the action of the first and the second movie is awesome. the third movie is a bitch sketchy and it shows that butcher is the writer when the human cooking and chomp chomp starts but really, the 3rd movie isn't even kaijuu battle at all but more on resolution battle. battle within oneself.
good story. worth the watch.
