In my country, a licensed manga volume = 1 USD. But it's still expensive for the most readers, especially for pupils / students like us.
And the shipping cost, I think isn't "cheap" as that book.

You said "don't live anywhere we can buy", not "live where shipping is too expensive".

Oh, sorry for this misunderstanding. My English is bad after all.
I just didn't wanna say clearly where I'm living for some reasons...

Hmm, so how many of these Higurashi doujins are worth reading?

And other then that, which ones are...safe?

Doujins? No, Hinageshi-hen is oneshot, not doujin.
Oneshots are official, not like doujins are fan-made.

What about Katautsushi-hen? Is Ryukishi07 responsible for its script?

I think it's same.
Those oneshots would be published again into an anthology...

Ah, when I asked my question I was referring to this:

But thanks anyways, I'll go read Hinageshi-hen then

This might be random but I think this is the best place to ask this...it's about the Manga version of Tatarigoroshi-Hen.

According to chapter 6, when Irie is telling Keiichi about Ooishi after he comes to the school looking for Satoko, Ooishi is known as 'Oyashiro-sama's Messenger' to the people of Hinamizawa, and that it's believed he chose the victims of every year's 'curse'.

I know the Anime skipped over a lot of info, in particular the Tatarigoroshi arc it seems, but having read the tips and other such things that the Anime excluded I've still never heard this before...was this in the games or is this exclusive to the Manga adaptation? I know that Ooishi is portrayed as something of a 'bad guy' in that arc, as opposed to how he was something of an ally in Onikakushi and Watanagashi, but this idea is still news to me.

Here's some links to the scene in question:

http://www.onemanga.com/Higurashi_no...igoroshi/6/13/

http://www.onemanga.com/Higurashi_no...igoroshi/6/14/

Any answers would be helpful.

One of the TIPS in Onikakushi-hen talks about this.

Oh I see. I guess I never noticed it before, thanks.

It's interesting how in the TIPS it's Rena and Mion, but in the Tatarigoroshi Manga, they push that onto Irie (though he's stated dislike of Ooishi in some of the game transcripts as well so it still makes sense).

Hey everybody, sorry for the lack of Minagoroshi-hen right now, teachers are throwing tests at me like we were playing dodge ball, and I have to keep a 3.6 or higher to keep my scholarships.

After the break (this weekend, it's over Tuesday) I'll likely be back on schedule with time to edit! Thanks ^^

BTW, Hinageshi-hen was written by Tagami Atsushi. The illustration was done by Houjou Yutori. The oneshot was published in Kataribanashi-hen (the comic anthology) Vol. 3. I'm not sure about Katautsushi-hen though.

Uhm... I own Kataribanashi-hen Volumes 2, 3, and 5. Anyone have any idea if there any more stories illustrated by Houjou Yutori in the others? I'll probably end up buying Vol. 1 and 4 someday anyway. |D But I'd like to know. I just really love her art style.

Two quick questions here, anyone have any info on Kokoroiyashi-hen? I saw some guy had on his website that he was working on it but he hasn't updated in a while, not a great sign : /
Secondly does anyone have a release date on Watanagashi-hen volume 1 from Yenpress?
