Umineko Legend of the Golden Witch vol 1 (containing chapters 1-5) has been entirely scanlated, check its manga thread.

Also chapter 1 of Turn of the Golden Witch seems to have been scanlated since January, though I'm not sure if the group that picked it up plans to continue the translation.

Hope this helps, even though it isn't actually Higurashi related...

On another note: can't wait for Yen Press to release Watanagashi vol 1. Yay for Shmion!~

Finally got a chance to finish reading kokoroiyashi-hen...actually didn't realize it was written by the mangaka of Karin, Kagesaki Yuna, until near the end. I thought it was weird that the art looked similar and have the similar bitter-sweet ending to the story. (it's been a while since I read Karin)

In general, I would say that it's a weirdly good original arc. You get your spoiler fes at the start, events happening here and there, and a nice ending. At least it's better than some of the other original manga arcs out there

Hirukowashi-hen has also started...I think it's pretty good so far. Highlight of the first chapter is definitely those two colored pages

It's not too complicated actually ^^

I only use Photoshop, so that program is more than enough. Just level the page (control+L. You can either use auto or do it manually to what you like) and take the eyedropper tool to get the black and white they use. The just pencil out the word bubbles with the white, and type them in with the text tool at whatever size feels right. With anime ace it runs around... 14 or so, depending ^^

If you want tips on redrawing... That'd be like a whole page XP
