I wonder who started and now spreading that trend in the utawaruremono world
btw, how many episodes have been confirmed for the anime? the pace so far is somewhat..slow I guess. Don't get me wrong, I am quite enjoying the pace so far, but IIRC the original series picked up quite fast after a first few episodes.

Another episode that was pretty good. I like the introduction of a large number of characters - ones that will very likely be taking part in the plot moving forward soon.
For me personally the BL lit craze (was the author one of the 8 pillars in disguise, or merely a look alike?) does not really work humor wise, but oh well.

Kind of another weaker episode after the nice Kuon focused one last week. A bit BL episode. I suppose props to the show's equality that they show how obsessed people can get about that stuff. But didn't make for an interesting episode. Rurutie has basically devolved into just "that girl obsessed with BL" without much else to her personality.
Some credit to Atui since she actually doesn't care that much about all that. Nice to see someone around Rurutie being completely befuddled by her crazy behavior. The next princess character (though a higher tier one) was ok I guess. Your basic spoiled child. Can talk a good game at major events, but clearly isn't all that reliable. Again I suppose some credit to the show for having her be mostly unrepentant for her selfishness, not giving into her punishment all that quickly. And will say...thank god it seems like the plot is ready to move forward with that preview. Also probably the highlight was Haku getting freaked out by that Vurai guy. That is the most freaked out he's looked since the gigiri incident. Something interesting is bound to result from that.

Wow, so the plot finally looks like it will move with the new introduced Generals. The General of the Left looks like the final boss for this arc.
Yes, Raurau-sensei looks exactly like Woshisu of the Shadowlight, down to the hair ornament, so it is safe to assume they are the same.

I'm starting to worry about the future of the empire.
here, we have Princess Anju, the heir to the throne, who was infected with Fujoism, supported by her Fujo-ed guardian and another Fujo princess. Not to mention this guy... I honestly admit the last few episodes bored me quite a lot but after watching this episode I have realized something. That is the only reason the girls here could do some crazy antics like shopping for BL is because the nation here is very peaceful(unlike the prequel). Just by remembering that I have been expecting some actions(which will come definitely), I've realized that these happy moments will soon be shattered.... Death... Ruined city... Adults die to protect children... Crying lolis everywhere.... I'm a sinful man..

Personally the weakest episode so far. Again I can't help but compare it to how the game handled all this.
Spoiler for comparision to game:

what the hell am I watching? is it still utawarerumono? that is what I feel when the first few minutes roll. I feel that the whole bl craze is waste of time but this episode introduced important characters that I wish that would do something worth their time.
i'm clearly disappointed here.

Was thinking about the BL lit content in the ep ... there was one aspect of it all that was unexpected, and that was that the famous BL author who came to give Rurutie a copy of the book Anju whisked away looked exactly like one of the eight generals. That may give the developing story a foot in the door with that particular general among the core group developing, just as Anju is a potential foot in the door with the general who spanked her on the spot together with the Haku circle.
Am beginning to wonder if some sort of coup d'etat will take place (with the general who scared Haku leading the charge) and the generals will be divided amongst the sides taken, with BL author general, spanking general and disguised Hakuoro lookalike general on one side as a minimum? Just speculation here....

Oh, my error after re-checking the intro. It does not look like the General of the Left is the final boss. It's
So the 2 Royal Generals are: 1) Oshutoru - General of the Right 2) Mikazuchi - General of the Left And the 8 Pillar Generals are 1) Vurai - of the Strong Arm 2) Raikou - of the Holy Wisdom 3) Soyankekuru - of the Dark Seas 4) Oozen - of the Pure Lands 5) Tokifusa - of the Tuned Strings 6) Dekoponpo - of the Seven Lights 7) Woshisu - of the Shadowlight 8) Munechika - the Guardian Protector As for guesses on who the bad guys are: Of course, the good guys are all the girls, which the 8 Pillar Generals only have one... Munechika. The rest will either be killed in gruesome deaths, or they will probably be neutral. My guess is that they'll be killed. There is just so much sweet and nice stuff so far in the series, so I really do expect political backstabbing soon.

Myself's 'VA detection skill' failed a lot on this new Utawarerumono anime. Never though that some seiyuus have vast different voice compare with their other roles...
Well about this show, they're still introducing characters so far. Perhaps it'll become like Steins;Gate few more episodes later? I made this crazy speculation just because both anime made by same studio... |
