Made this in photoshop, then uploaded it, but it was over the limit. saving it as a .gif didn't kill the color, but it was 1kb over the limit still. >.< So I cropped the edges a tiny bit and it was fine but somehow it killed the color. I tried upping the saturation, but it didn't work very well. advice on how I can fix this...?

Yea, that's what I wanted to know, thank you so much! Silly me, I used to try brushes+gaussian blur to create that type of effect and it never used to come satisfactory. I never thought of using the alpha channel a.k.a the blue screen effect

When I wanted to learn animation, I used this tutorial : http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/animation/animation.htm It teaches the basic, but it was enough for me to know how to do some other stuff Don't know if it's much help, but I would recommend it.....

^ I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean you want something like this(?);
If you did mean that, then in the signature code you need to have... Code:
(IMG)http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y127/tsukasarei/new1_01.png(/IMG)(IMG)http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y127/tsukasarei/new1_02.gif(/IMG) |

If you click on the second image he posted and click View Image, you can see that the image is whole.. With the other side being animated, and other side being static. With your method that is not the case, and I don't think you're allowed to do that anyway as it would mean having two images as your signature ?

@Dist - Ah, I see what he meant now However no, it's not against the signature rules to have two images in your signature - as long as you don't breach the guidelines.
@Einrei - if you want a 'whole' signature like the other one you posted, you will need to drastically reduce the file sizes of the images beforehand. In total, they equal 148.5 KB, which is 100 KB over the limit at AS. |

Dist, it's not against the rules. I, and others, have had multiple images for signatures a lot of times, even checked in with the staff and yes it is definitely 100% legit. Rules state the total sum needs to be 50,000 bytes, nothing else. Normally images in signatures were allowed so we could have anime-banners, or site-banners/promos which are these small long strips. Of course now all you see is random anime characters everywhere. You can even have a signature with both sides animated and with different timing to get the illusion of a longer loop; but the cases where you can make use of that are rare.
