They sure put a lot of budget into the transformation scenes:
Spoiler:
Overall fun episode though with Vivio and the chemistry between Fate/Nanoha. Not sure how long this cour will be. Oh and also, that OP song is alright.

Episode 1.
Not a bad start by reintroducing the old characters we're used to. However I don't like the color pallete used for the anime and despite being the first episode there was quality, even in the freaking opening. Are least the. henshin had budget. Edit: Jap episode reactions >Was the first episode's animation done by Koreans? That's pretty cruel. >Is this like in Shirobako? Jiggly jiggly heaven? >First episode conclusion: Vivid has already used up the contents of the ero bank >In terms of adapting the manga it's perfect. The sakuga? Hopeless. >It's too early to judge the animation. I have faith. >A-1 is producing so many shows at the moment, Jiggly Jiggly was inevitable. >It's not an issue with the sakuga, you guys just don't like the character designs >I'm dropping this until I see a sakuga revival. >Who the hell did they get to do the character designs for this season? A fool? >Even the OP sakuga is dubious wwwww >I feel like the staff aren't passionate about this. Last edited by Pablete; 2015-04-03 at 10:08. |

Although only the raws are up right now, I decided I could take a look at it since I already read this part of the manga before. A bit disappointed that they only covered the first chapter in this ep.
The OP and Vivio's transformation theme were... discordant. I have the OPs for the previous seasons on my car's CD, this OP won't be joining them. How long will this be? Scenes from the OP suggest they'll be covering up to the Tournament at least. So, two cours is not an impossibility. |

I know this is being kind of nitpicky but one thing that already bothered me right away is the city design. Mid-Childa was in a way "futuristic" and exotic. Even in the manga of ViVid, it gives off that feel a bit. Here... they seem to just make it look very similar to Earth's cities.
Other than that, I'm liking it! Well, I love ViVid a lot since it's just all fun! And Nanoha!! How I miss you!! NANOMAMA!! (Well I miss Fate too but I'm a bit more of a Nanoha fan )

Well, I can say that the first ep. is quite a bad sign. It's very clear that this show has less budget than Nanoha, A's and Strikers.
SOL moment is fine but action scene need some improvement. Also, the way they draw the characters' eyes makes their face looks QUALITY.

Tournament arc is about 60 chapters long. So the pace is just right (if they have at least 24 eps of cause). But I hope they planned their budget and action will be decent.
In general I still can't get used to new designs and OP was so-so for Nanoha franchise but at least they are following manga closely for now. So I'll be watching

Am I dreaming?
A Nanoha series that Nanoha is not narrating, but some other character. But in the beginning, Nanoha is still there. So there's not much difference, though main character has changed. Even so, Nanoha is still there. |

Besides I'm not complaining if I get to see a matured Nanoha here and there.

And there's Yuno, who changed Nanoha's life into who she is in this series.
I think he is the highest possibilities to become Vivio's father, but.... Too bad he's not appearing. It is a fourth series, and Nanoha's character background escalated in unbelievable ways. In this episode, we see Nanoha as just Vivio's mother, but looking back to the previous series, there's more to that then meets the eye. |

Remember, Vivid was always about Vivio and some more new characters, and the past Belka-MidChida conflict. Force was the once focused on the central characters. If you want to complain about the lack of screentime for the central characters, complain about Force not being more popular.
