Meiling! Not gonna lie, it feels good to see her again (glad they actually let us SEE her rather than just hear her). The rest of the chapter had the usual pace but I'd say it was more enjoyable than the last one, and most importantly, it served the purpose of giving us more time with Akiho as well as a bit of foreshadowing with her through her "friend".

Don't forget Tomoyo confirmed for having drones (or at least, eventually). There's really no excuse for her not to. |

Nice to actually see Meiling! It looks like she's going to visit later in the show too. I honestly didn't think that would happen. I'm really glad they're making this show a proper sequel to the anime, rather than attempting to make a 1:1 adaptation of the manga.
As soon as Sakura mentioned it'd be nice to be able to record precious moments automatically, I knew what the card of the week would be. Tomoyo is sure to love it. I'm feeling bad for Syaoran. I thought he was never there when Sakura captured the card on purpose, since we know he is working with Eriol, but it looks like he wants to help her and can't because he's completely unable to sense the new cards. He must be feeling really helpless.

You know, maybe its both; he's with Eriol because he knows or is afraid that he can't do anything by himself this time around. |

Far as Meiling goes, sounds like she'll probably be showing up on Summer vacation. Which means we'll see her with everyone else at the pool. I wonder if the different people will react differently to being together there now that relationships are established and time has gone by.
I sort of wonder what the exact nature of this new power is, and why it is that despite clearly knowing something about it Syaoran's still confused and frustrated by his inability to sense it. Is he just upset that he can't help Sakura at all, or is there something more to it? Also, I noticed that to this point there hasn't been a single anthropomorphic card. In the previous deck, it seemed like almost all were anthropomorphic and very personally motivated as if they were legitimate beings. Here, there's a degree of motivation but it seems a little more vague and instinctive, to go along with the way that they are themselves either mechanical or animalistic in appearance. Makes me think two possibilities: either they're more physical and somehow connected with the physical/scientific side of the world, thus being the reason they don't feel magical, or given the dream motif perhaps they're literally from the "world" of dreams, and thus don't fully exist on our level, thus their lack of presence and transparency. |

Watched episode 6:
Hmm, so Kero can transform into his larger self.. that should mean that the Sakura Cards are still ok, since Kero can't get large if they're not. A rather laid back episode with some good singing by Tomoyo and Akiho... suprised Li has some talent in playing the piano. And it looks like Li can' t help much in finding / detecting the new Clear cards... he can't sense them at all. __________________ Just had a thought.. Kero small form reminds me of B.U.E.R from Koakaku no Pandora.

I'm actually impressed how far technology has developed in their world now. That flying camera Tomoyo got is dope.
Cute episode this week. Sakura's new outfit gives me a fairy tale feel. Seems that Syaoran improved his skills too.

Video conference calls and long range camera drones. Cardcaptor Sakura truly has come into the 21st century.
Episodes like this remind me that Tomoyo really is rich AF, and that occasional bouts of crazy are matrilineal.

...Damn, I really want to see Sakura use Gravitation like that more often. I hope this new card doesn't completely take the place of it, because that was seriously cool. It's stuff like this that really brings it home that Sakura is an experienced mage by now.
That said, I can tell how much she's missed being able to fly. That part was really lovely.

In CCS Syaoran would hold up that ball-charm that's attached to the hilt of the sword, and the sword would then appear in his hand. We've never seen that flamey-pull-sword-out-of-hand trick from him in this series before.

I loved seeing Sakura go all Gravity Rush on us! Too bad she probably won't do it again, since she can fly once more now.
The record card is more interesting than I expected, with its abilities to create 3D holograms (I bet Tomoyo would love to have a Sakura hologram). Could be useful to confuse enemies. I'm sure Sakura will find clever uses for it. The way Syaoran conjured up his sword was pretty cool. Too bad he was ultimately useless. The preview confirms the Sealed Card is not canon, since Akiho lives in Eriol's house (what a coincidence...), which was destroyed to make way for an amusement park in the movie.

And one of my favorite parts from the manga gets animated. Sakura befriending Flight shows exactly what kind of person she is, and while one might say that's been always been clear, I think its nice to be reminded this girl isn't about defeating the bad guys, but wanting everyone to be happy. Also, Sakura finally gets to be a fairy.
On other stuff, the Record card is way cooler than I thought it would be, though Tomoyo isn't giving up the spot of Sakura's official cameragirl without a fight, bringing her surprisingly small drone. I remember when the manga first came out and a complain you'd hear often was the inconsistencies with technlogy, and it was heard, apparently. Please don't bring Tsubasa to this, CLAMP. Just, no.
