Will there be more manga that use sex as a major plot point

Maybe my reference pool is too small, but looking at the current lineup of manga that attracts more attention than average, there seems to be more series that use sex as a major plot point than what I used to remember. Do you think that this is a trend, and would it continue to grow in the future?

Yes, I'd say it's likely for now.

It's not just manga. Media in general has become more sexually explicit — see how many american tv shows nowadays have explicit sex scenes in every episode.

Comics and manga are just elements of media following this trend. It might be a response to a sexually-deprived culture to massively consume explicit material once the morality surrounding sexual behavior becomes more relaxed.

It will subdue eventually, after it becomes "normal" and no longer attracts attention for its novelty.

I actually think that we need this kind of stories. Let's be honest, nowadays we are tending to be way too tolerant, and sometimes we pay less attention to some trivial things and passions, just like sex. So, I really hope that we are going to get more and more manga series with the main plot being something sexual related. Someone might say that I am addicted to sex, and you know... that would be true actually. I have even got some of the best clit sensitizers from https://lovermart.com/product/clit-s...trawberry-1oz/ , so yeah, I am really addicted, and that might be the cause why I really want this kind of manga.

It will never be a trend.

1. Otaku can be very "sensitive" to this issue. You know, OMG, she's not a virgin! OMG, she's a bitch! That stuff.
2. As such, it is not a popular theme.
3. Also, I guess a lack of personal experience?

This if, of course, talking about shows that treat the topic seriously. Not like Reviewers-type of sex plot.

It will happen eventually.

Even if the Japanese market wouldn't like it, the American, Russian, and Spanish audiences would totally promote it.

Berserk has like one scene.

Goblin Slayer has a rape scene in its first episode. You might be able to argue that it happens twice, but the second one is only implied.

Castlevania Season 2 has a serious sex scene where one of the humans completely gave into his lust. And suffered the consequences for it. Although, I'm not sure if Castlevania can be considered anime.

All of these markets are no more than a blip compared to the Japanese one.

This topic is very weird considering there is an entire hentai industry pandering to exactly this desire.

I'm pretty sure a Japanese industry pandering specifically to a non-Japanese audience is not a good idea.

doubt it though, since the industry already have a segment cater to this in the form of H industry where we have VN, games, and not a small amount of anime produced in this category like Eisdrache said, it will get more explicit but not by much in my opinion, and might slowly going back to normal overtime, like I said, the industry already have a segment specifically in this category, they just aren't as prominent and this might make the H side of anime-manga industry get more interest.

I mention those markets because those are the ones constantly getting mixed in my search results. I know, because subtitles.

Idk, the industry really likes to bleed into ecchi. Like dangerously ecchi. Seems like a reasonable topic to me.

We have seen how soulless those commissioned Netflix anime are. So yeah, dont cater to the West.

That's a little unfair. Netflix just likes spitting out a lot of bad content so their exclusives section looks full, not just their anime but their movies too.

That said, I'm not entirely sure what an anime catering to the west would look like. I'm guessing something like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Zoids.

Let's be honest - if any cultural product wants to gain popularity, it must take into account the needs of the entire market. If some pedantic reader doesn't like the explicit manga, ten other readers will buy two copies of it. And I'm sure no one here will deny the huge popularity of hentai. Therefore, I'd say that there is always a demand for such a genre. But someone expresses this using the services of Escorte Switzerland, and someone reads thematic manga. The only question is whether fans of other forms of erotica will choose manga over video or fanfiction.

There's plenty of sexual manga out there. It kind of depends on how it's presented. That said, I've had to recently recognize just how right you are about how "sensitive" many can be with the continued hate I see in comments about the manga Chisa X Pon. Yes, the story presents kids as actually kids, focuses on all the sorts of mistakes that can be made and the very real consequences that can come of it, and all that most have to say is either "she's a slut, he deserves better" or "she's an idiot who got raped because of her own idiocy, he deserves better".

But again, it probably will depend on presentation. Interspecies Reviewers seems to have done quite well by itself, suggesting that stories that dive deep can work (as long as they're creative enough). Redo of Healer has shown that using sex as a medium to the achievement of certain ends can also work (revenge in general is extremely popular, and getting vengeance on abusive women by abusing them back certainly has its place). It should be noted that, to my knowledge, there are plenty of hentai out there with experienced women or even with the women having other partners as a central plot (I don't get the NTR fetish, to me the very idea is disgusting unless the hero finds a way to take her back, but apparently it's a very big thing). If the hentai industry can come up with numerous methods to sell a story where the women are experienced or other such things, I'm sure it's possible for more general manga and anime to do so.

Actually, thinking about it, I suspect that a bigger problem than the girl not being a virgin is the girl having been in love before. I mean, I've seen a few stories that make a point about the girl not being a virgin. However, among those, even excluding rape victims, most were deceived, finding out that the partner was different than they thought later on, or they somehow became so casual that sex doesn't seem to mean anything to them, or they willingly gave it away for other reasons, but they never actually fell in love. Or if they fell in love, it didn't end up in a relationship (like how, in March Comes in Like a Lion, Hinata has a big crush on a childhood friend, but he moves away before she can develop any real close bond with him; it was never allowed to go beyond a childish crush).

Mushoku Tensei gives the protagonist a "subplot" after feeling "impotence" in his debut to the point he feels betrayed by the girl and even has monologues about how his muscles will never betray his crotch. The "curse" ends when he makes his return.

The popularity of hentai is a drop in the bucket compared to more mainstream stuff. That audience is more dedicated than they are large, relatively speaking.

An Ishizoku Reviewers will never be more popular than a Spy X Family.

This show was known to be and advertised as something sexual, it became popular enough but not really wide ranging in its success.
