One Piece - Chapter 890 [manga]

Welp, turns out we got an early spoiler (and most likely chapter) before the new year! Credit goes to AP's Sandman for the info:

-Chapter title is "Big Mom on the ship". The splash is, interestingly enough, a color page that features various characters as the signs of the Chinese zodiac (Luffy as the monkey, Carrot as the rabbit (naturally), Big Mom as the pig, etc.).

-Big Mom starts destroying the Sunny in her frantic search for the wedding cake. Jinbei tells her that there is no cake aboard the ship, and BM answers that if that's true, then she'll have to kill her eldest son, Perospero, as punishment. Peros heard his mother's words, and is shocked since he thought he tricked her. However, the enraged Big Mom tells Jinbei to not call her son a liar, and attacks him with her flaming sword! Jinbei blocks the slash with armament haki, but is nonetheless knocked right into the ocean....!!!

-As BM continues to destroy the Sunny, Nami tries to tell her to stop, but Linlin simply attacks her in response! However, Chopper arrives in time to block the attack with Guard Point. Jinbei also takes this opportunity to attack from the sea, using the water to put out the fires caused by Big Mom, as well as separating Prometheus from her. He then hops on the ship, and sends the empress flying with a powerful punch!

-Unfortunately, that doesn't keep her away for long. She gets rescued by Zeus before she hit the ocean, and threatens to slice the Sunny in half! As for Zeus, Nami tries to trick him again, but the cloud won't fall for it this time, as he goes on the attack! He zaps Brooke with a thunderbolt, but amusingly the skeleton is unaffected since he's just bone, heh. Instead, he slices the cloud in half, and Nami uses this chance to activate Zeus' powers to zap Big Mom, giving them an opportunity to escape! Having been attacked and manipulated by the enemy, Zeus has lost his energy, and is now a tiny cloud, who Nami once more forces to be her servant. However, the chase is not over yet, as the enraged Big Mom is pursuing them on Prometheus this time.....!!!!

Franky will be surprised to see how much damage Sunny suffer.. Man i hope Sunny doesn't take more damage than this.

Still, Zeus' flaw is bullseye for Nami as she can use Thunderbolt tempo once again to make Zeus use his power to zap Big Mom.

Jinbe managing to send Big Mom flying is quite the feat. Granted, she seems to be worn out from all that chasing.

If it weren't for Sandman's name I would lable this as fake spoilers.

Too much text, way too early, title is too simlpe, and it's structured like the prediction posts usually are, each action has instant/result turn around and can be viewed as finished by the end of the chapter.

Not impossible for it to be real, but it's very fishy..
Just the back and forth between Jinbei/BM and Nami/Zeus would be 1 whole to 1.5 chapters with the normal pace of the arc. + Sunny's destruction + 2 people trying to convince BM.

It's also too early for chinese zodiac colour page, is it not?
Shouldn't it be around early/mid february in 2018?

Well, take the summary as you will, but early spoilers are pretty much the norm for this time of year (technically, this should have came out NEXT week, but... well, special holiday circumstances and whatnot). And at the very least, the color spread info is legit, as I updated the first post with a pic of it. For those curious, the characters representing the zodiac animals are:

Luffy = Monkey
Carrot = Rabbit
Big Mom = Pig
Fujitora = Tiger
Cavendish = Horse
Mansherry = Rat
Momonosuke = Dragon
Inuarashi = Dog
Califa = Sheep (remember her "Soap Sheep"? )
Hancock = Snake
Minotaurus (from Impel Down) = Ox
Marco = Rooster (but can also be represented by the phoenix, hence his appearance here)

Honestly, I only find Mansherry an odd addition to the spread.... I mean, if Oda were going to use a rat/mouse-themed character, there was Nezumi from the Arlong arc (that crooked marine who put Luffy's first bounty on his head, remember?). I guess Luffy's dad could have also taken Momo's place as well, but at least the latter is a literal "dragon" in this case, heh.

Nami become extremely scary.. She even maybe more scarier than Big Mom when it comes to bargain realizing that Nami has exploit Zeus' weakness twice

^what amazes me more is the fact that Jinbei was able to push Big Mom out of the ship. He is powerful and composed.

What an awesome chapter. Jinbe and Brook keep pulling off new feats. The Straw Hats are incredibly lucky that Big Mom is an opponent that plays well to their strengths.

I'm just imagining that if the members we have here were replaced with the Dressrosa team, they wouldn't be anywhere near as successful with dealing with this entire Whole Cake Island escape.

Well, i do feel relieved that it was not Nami anyway or he will be beaten to death. Still his trait of resisting lighting was quite surprising.

Yep, i feel sorry for Zeus now as he have to make a choice, be Nami's servant or she will fully discharge him again XD

That reminds me, are you sure next week it will be a break?

Oda's break sometimes doesn't in time with Shueisha's break.

The thing with Brook makes sense. Lightning causes damage through heat via resistance as the current flows through the organs and flesh, and damage to the nerves which uses electrical impulses. Brook has none of those, so him and Luffy are essentially electricity proof.

Not sure what you meant.

To clarify, that's how Jump gets released at the end of the year, so this applies to all its series. It's unrelated to Oda's breaks.

I mean when Oda is on the break and about to resume, Shueisha takes a break next week where Oda can release a new chapter supposedly. Or maybe also a week after Shueisha as well so.. sometimes Oda and Shueisha's break doesn't match.

Note that Shueisha is the publisher that was responsible for Weekly Shonen Jump.
