I went back and read some of the earlier chapters from these games, and the end of 274 was the first mention of Levy's letter/record. We learn that this letter is written only days after the Grand Magic games ended, and that Levy referred to Lucy as her "beloved", so when she's talking about something happening to her beloved, I think it's referring to Lucy and not Gajeel. Meaning we'll have two random deaths, but likely not more than that.

She's needed to open this gateway. Arcadios said he intended to sacrifice her life. She's not supposed to survive, and the fact that she does must be Zeref or the celestial spirit world's own intervention. I think the girls a tainted time-traveling Lucy too, and she leaped to right before Chelia and Wendy's battle (before today's chapter). Lucy's free will likely belongs to Zeref and she'll be leaving destruction in her wake soon.

This "banquet" is supposed to be dragons, humans, and demons. The demon aspect is connected to Zeref, as we saw with Deliora. Purehito summoned some also. My theory is that this eclipse plan will open the gateway to a demon world, which can only happen on a certain day depending on cosmic/stellar alignment, that day coinciding with the end of these games. The dragons take action every time the demons are summoned, and the humans are basically caught in the cross-fire.

Acnologia is still an enigma. Zeref or it is the leader of the demon faction. I think Acnologia is a sort of a demon/dragon hybrid, given its physical markings and ties to Zeref. If Zeref created these demons, then Acnologia might have been his first experiment.

It's also possible we might be seeing the resurrection of some of those dragons in the graveyard as demon-dragons under Zeref's power, including Sting and Rogue's former dragon parents. Or it might just be driving home the concept that dragons and demons have battled here since ancient times.

Anyhow, I'm predicting a big demon vs dragons battle here, and this tainted Lucy might tip the scales in favor of the demons. Raven Tail on the loose is very troublesome too.

In all honesty I don't get authors obsession with chapter numbers. They are purposely dragging things out just to make something big in rounded chapter number. I find it stupid and pointless.

I do like how at the end Mavis and Makarov were crying in the exact same way. :P
