I'm actually doing medal runs. Dear god it's difficult with neither using buckets nor extra docks. Even if I did have all 4 slots open I think I would have appreciated a 5th and 6th just in case I have to repair the whole fleet at once >.>
So no one has figured out LoS requirement for 2-5 yet? I am deeply perplexed as I can't get to boss node at all. Then again I've only done 3 runs thus far due to the massive repair time for fast BBs. I've been running 2CV and 4 fast BB. |

Depends on where you guttered. If it's after the 1st node then that's RNG (25% of getting there with 4 BBs). If it's before the boss node, add more seaplanes instead of radars on your ships. The LOS calculation there is 2*(Recon Plane LoS) + Radar LoS + √(all other LoS) ≥ 76

Speaking of 3-5, this is the first time I ever bothered doing last kill south.
I usually do 3 kills south last kill north but I got bad luck at north this month (keeps meeting BWS). Passed the pre-boss nodes with only scratches but only to get karma'ed at boss node with a miss fest Got an A with only Ta remaining

Ah, i means the gold Ru-BB in 2nd node.
Because the Ta-boss was in the cover so it just tricked my brain Edit: and now 4 times in a row heading to dead end node.... what did i do RNG-sama? Edit2: that fcking BB is cursed. It's cursed. How can she hit my lvl 96 full hp Myouko to red even when she was at moderate damaged.... This is not fair.... Edit 3: the fker did that again..

Just grind Mogami to lvl10 and put her in the flagship position. That should do the trick, assuming she is at least modernized to max.
That's pretty much what I did for Kako and Aoba. Still another example why you really want at least 3-4 lvl70+ ships of every type possible to avoid such situation.

Mmm... I think I overdid the LOS thing. I put like 2 seaplanes on each of the Kongou sisters. Got me to the boss node of 2-5, but I didn't have enough firepower to take her down. All her escorts were sunk but she lived with barely a scratch. My own fleet barely survived the encounter. Except Zuikaku, she was the flagship, and the lucky carrier after all

Err... there's a night battle plane? I've only ever played casually so never got into the really technical parts of the game till necessary like with LOS and branching rules.
I basically have Zuikaku(torpedo, fighter, bomber, bomber) and Shoukaku(torpedo, fighter, bomber, torpedo), then the kongou sisters with identical equipment of 41cm main gun, 15.5 triple sub-cannon, then 2 basic seaplanes, the ones that come in default with most CLs dropped off the map. Considering dropping the plane numbers to 1 each. But all things considered that's going to take awhile since everyone is red and I only have 2 baths open |

Swap the secondary gun for another main gun (41cm. 35.6cm if you don't have it).
