New Mazinkaiser spinoff ova (3 episodes) called Mazinkaiser SKL is in the works, along with a novel and a manga. The novelization is running in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Hobby Magazine, while the manga is running on the Shū 2 Comic Gekkin site from Bandai Visual's Emotion video production subsidiary (credit to animenewsnetwork).

Yea guns just don't fit Mazinger, though the sword still works.

This Mazinkaiser looks great, but it carries some elements that didn't belong to Mazinger, besides the guns, the air vents on top of the chest in front of the neck don't seem to fit well.

Its great to see Minerva X anytime.

Hmmm unless the son doesn't acknowledge his father or is using a fake name, none of the guys shown here is a Kabuto.

But if any of them is Kouji's son its quite obvious.

Ryu and Ken... eh? Looks more like Duke Fleed and Kouji Kabuto, If the rumors are true then this is canon to "WHAT" mazinger series....probably another alternate time much like the ones in the anthology manga and anime OVA's.

Also the new girl robot there looks like Devilman Lady. Also MazinKaiser here kinda reminds me of the God Mazinger in the old Sega game with the sword and all, seems they wanted to revive that nostalgic HARD to finish game. lol

That's Mazinsaga, which has its own manga by Go Nagai. But yeah, this reminds me of Mazinsaga a lot and the art is one of the best I've seen coming from him. Again alternate stuff and it features one of the most badass Mazinger ever.

Finally they're putting in "ALTERNATE" universes in the Mazinger series. Wonder what other alternate universes will be in.

they were more like retellings. Same with Z Mazinger, Mazinger Angels, Mazinsaga etc. This time it's different because we're getting new characters.
